Oceaniare's known for the freshest seafod all year long, and starting in October, they offer local spiny lobster dishes for a limited time during the lobster season. Be sure to get reservations in advance, as Oceanaire is jammed this time of year.
Locally conscious chef Trey foshee offers a spiny lobster tasting menu, including a butter poached lobster with butternut squash, apples and spinach, a corn soup with braised lobster and a surf and turf with spiny lobster, hangar steak and smoked garlic. The tasting menu is $90 per person, but each selection is also available a la carte.
We love the sound of the Grant Grill's local lobster salad, made with Oro Blanco grapefruit, lambs lettuce, toasted macadamia nuts and tossed with a warm vanilla vinaigrette. Chef Chris Kurth is also offering a roasted local lobster (with braised endive, Pearmain apples, house-cured bacon) and a grilled spiny lobster.
