Just north of central San Diego and UCSD is an excellent beach, golf course and state park in La Jolla. The park provides ample room to run, hike, or lay on the beach to catch some rays.
Ocean beach experience like nothing else.
Torrey Pines is open every day (365), 8am to sunset. There is a parking fee for any car entering Torrey Pines State Reserve: $8, senior $7, disabled $4. The reserve covers 2000 acres of land with chaparral plants and the rare and elegant Torrey Pine trees. Pinus torreyana once covered a larger area but now grows only here and on Santa Rosa Island off the coast near Santa Barbara. There are 8 miles of trails and a visitor center. On the weekends and holidays you can catch a guided nature walk.
Plan a visit for a few hours to enjoy both the beauty and opportunity to relax.
