Best Breakfast in San Diego!.
Ruby's Diner is delicious!
Of all the 50?s diners I?ve been to, this one is by far my favorite. The food is outstanding, dirt cheap, atmosphere is pleasant and bright, and the waitresses are wonderful! I've enjoyed both their Breakfast & Lunch menu. I can't wait to go back.

1940s-style diner chain serves comfort food classics to patrons with a craving for nostalgia..
In Short
In 1982, businessman Doug Cavanaugh opened the first Ruby's in Southern California's Newport Beach, naming it after his mother. Today, this nationwide chain--adorned with red vinyl booths, Formica tables, soda fountains and retro posters--features the same timeless food and hospitality that keep diners coming back. Favorites are the classic burgers topped with secret RubySauce, fries and sweet shakes. Other staples include pancakes, omelettes, sandwiches, chili, salads and a variety of fountain treats.

So much fun!.
This is the first diner I have been to where I was confident the food wasn't going to be greasy and covered in gravy. They make their own honey mustard sauce that is good enough to eat straight! The staff was so friendly and would check on us frequently so we never ran out of drinks and fries (that come with refills!). This is a fun date place as well as family friendly. Located in the Mission Valley mall, I like going here right before catching a movie since they stay open late!
