Family-run ice cream shop in Normal Heights. Beatles posters and anti-war quotes dot the walls of this mom and pop ice cream shop in Normal Heights. Just as wholesome and nostalgia-inducing are the rich, homemade flavors that include chocolate malt, cookies and cream, and mango sorbet. Flavors are written on a dry erase board in the back of the shop, alongside a full dessert and drinks menu that includes root beer floats, banana splits, smoothies, and malts.

San Diego's Best Ice Cream. While patroling the North Park Art Festival last weekend, I came upon Mariposa Ice Cream. A friendly man served me up a delicious scoop of chocolate peanut butter ice cream. It was amazing. I have never had such deliciously dense and creamy ice cream. I just came home from venturing to their shop on Adams in Normal Heights. I ordered a pint of chocolate peanut butter and a pint of coconut. The owners are friendly and happy as is their shop. Their genuine appreciate for their customers makes the Mariposa experience all the more fun. The ice cream was fantastic and I can't wait to go back! I raise my lucky paw to Mariposa.
