Excellent Italian food with relaxed, friendly atmosphere.
We ate there based on staying at the Hyatt Aviara in Carslbad and finding it on citysearch. We really enjoyed it. The food was excellent! The service was great and the friendly casual atmosphere really relaxed us. It was crowed. I had the feeling this is where the locals went for good Italian Food! Now we know why!

Fun and Friendly.
We had dinner here, recommended by the hostess of the Bed and Breakfast that we stayed at. The atmosphere is wonderful, crowded, noisy and bustling. The wine is wonderful, the staff very friendly and the food superb.

Good food, fair prices, but terrible environment- way over-crowded.
Good points
The food is excellent
The prices are reasonable for the quality of food
Bad Points
No reservations accepted and the restaurant is crowded and this makes it inconvenient
There are 25-33% too many tables in the restaurant. This makes you have to sit right next to another party. You have the conversation at your table, but you must also endure the conversations of the tables next to you.
The noise is really loud. At your table you must talk very loud for your dinner party to hear you. At times you listen to the restaurant and you realize everyone is talking really loud.
There are two round tables at the back which are better than the rest. You can also sit on the sidewalk outside (quieter than inside).
On the whole, there are some other good Italian restaurants nearby where you can make a reservation and the tables are spaced out providing a little bit of privacy and they are quiet which makes for a relaxed dinner.
Maybe at lunch it would not be so noisy and crowded!

Italian.
This is one of my favorite restaraunts. I even brought 2 picky Italian Northeasterners who have to unique tastes. They both were delighted on the entrees they picked. I have always a delightful time and pleasant service when i have been there. Love the Italian accents.

Savory sauces, fresh baked bread and generous portions keep customers coming back for more at this nouvelle Italian favorite..
In Short
North County locals and foodies line up in droves for the comforting Italian cuisine at this small eatery in downtown Encinitas. The rural European décor is stylishly upscale and the atmosphere is festive as friendly servers bring out seemingly endless bowls of fresh baked bread and zesty marinara sauce. Specialties include generous portions of homemade gnocchi, linguine Mediterraneo and lobster ravioli. Crème brulee is the must-have dessert.
