“Used to be good place - NOT ANYMORE / Ruined Blanket”
“Up until my last visit I've had no problems with this cleaner perfect service; they would follow my every instruction.”
“took a beautiful, expensive jacket in for cleaning after a trip.”
HORRIBLE. The worst customer service that I have ever experienced!! Will never return again.
Used to be good place - NOT ANYMORE / Ruined Blanket.
Like the previous negative reviews on Hangers, I have been coming to them since 2006 and have never had a single issue with the service. Since the change of ownership, I have used Hangers twice and both times encountered problems.
The first issue was simply being overcharged for my clothes by three times the fee. This was done by the owner. She fixed this problem by refunding me the money but how many others are they doing this to?
The second issue is the reason why I WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN. I took a blanket in to get dry cleaned. The blanket was crochet by my grandmother who died a few years ago. So while the blanket isn't valuable, its sentimental value is invaluable. Prior to leaving the blanket we spread it out on the counter and, along with the female Asian owner, carefully made sure there were no rips or tears in the blanket. She then gave me the receipt and I picked it up a week later. Upon picking up the blanket I discover a tag attached to reading "received in damage conditions". I was floored - what damage? I verified when I dropped it off thate there was no damage WITH THE OWNER HERSELF!
At this point, I had already paid for the blanket and was in my car driving away so I pull over and take the blanket out of the plastic and inspect it and sure enough, there are 3 uniform holes on the edge of the blanket. These 3 holes are spaced equidistant in the same area of the blanket - it was clear the banket was folded and then hung on some type of apparatus while at the cleaner that stretched the fabric until it finally ripped. The next thing I noticed was the fact the blanket wasn't cleaned. It still had hair and dirt intertwined within it plus it still had the same "dirty smell" on the blanket. So even though they failed to clean the blanket, they somehow managed to put 3 holes in it.
So I took it back and bring this to the attention of the counter girl and tell her I want a refund. She asks me to come back on Monday (this was on a Saturday) and I tell her no I do not want to take time off work and simply want a refund. So the counter girl proceeds to call the owner and eventually puts me on the phone with her and then we get into a pissing match about whether or not the blanket was already ripped when I dropped it off. She only agreed to credit my credit card for the blanket when I tell her to have the counter girl look up my account and see how much money I've spent at their establishment over the past few years - only then did she agree to credit my card.
I WILL NEVER USE THIS PLACE AGAIN. Clearly the recent negative reviews show the change of ownership has created serious issues.
Horrid Cleaners and new owners!!!. This used to be a wonderful cleaners...now it's horrid! Truly horrid! I took a beautiful, expensive jacket in for cleaning after a trip. When I picked it up, two of the snaps were broken. I called and was asked to come in. When I came in and asked that they repair their mistake, some angry, mean man came out from the back, yelling at me, telling me I broke the snaps and tough! (I actually have a picture of me in my jacket, snapped, a day prior) He actually scared me and I left quickly, letting them know I will never return. During the conversation with Ann at the counter, she stated that she knew they didn't have the correct snaps to repair those...when I asked how she already knew they didn't have correct snaps, she hymned and hawed...they knew all along they had done the damage. What has happened to service, responsibility and integrity??? You will not find it here! I will find another Hangers to go to because I appreciate their method and environmentally kind ways. I took the jacket back to Nordstrom's, where they stated the cleaners clearly did do this, yet they will repair. Alls well that ends well.
New owner is a NIGHTMARE!!!!.
I have been going to the same dry cleaners since January 07 when it was owned and run by a gentleman by the name of Gordon. Up until my last visit I've had no problems with this cleaner perfect service; they would follow my every instruction.
To give a little history, before I trust a dry cleaners with my clothes I ask if they can document my account with the following instructions
1) Never put any of my colored collard shirts in water
2) Do not machine press my cuffs or collars or the button seam on any of my collard shirts only hand steam. (This fades the edge of the shirt)
The previous owner followed these instructions to the T, but under this new owner this isn’t the case.
I walked in like usual with all of my designer shirts 15+ of them. Found out that there was a new owner and my original instructions have been removed from my account. I immediately informed the person taking my clothes (happens to be the new owner) of my above instructions. Her reply was “don't worry about it they will take care of my clothes”. I felt that since I've had a good customer relation with this cleaner they would take care of it like always. Not the case here, I go back to pick up my cloths and come to find that none of my instructions were followed. My shirts have probably been laundered (put in water) and now they are all faded and ruined.
I'll never use this particular dry cleaner again!!
PS: I found that Gordon the original owner has another Hangers Cleaners in Downtown San Diego. I'll be taking my business down there.
