Editorial Review for Indigo Grill – by Maren Dougherty
In Short
Chef Deborah Scott's bold menu and décor draw mostly young professionals from nearby high-rises. Many start their evenings with pipian crusted brie, an appetizer so popular that it's now sold at the nearest Whole Foods in Hillcrest. The coastal menu-with influences stretching from Alaska to Oaxaca-also boasts inventive vegetarian dinner items like butternut squash with caramelized plantains and marinated tofu. Seafood offerings include plank salmon and scarlet snapper.

Insider Tips
SAVE TIMEHang out with the cocktail crowd and order from the first-rate bar menu with salmon bruschetta, flatbread and crab filled jalapeno poppers.
WHAT TO DRINKBrave the Oaxaca fire cocktail-tequila, triple sec, serrano jelly, and muddled lme served with a salt and pepper rim
KNOW BEFORE YOU GOThe managers don't have a strict closing time. Usually it's open late, but don't be shocked if it's closed by 8:30pm on a weekday.
