2 Words: Carbon Monoxide (Too Close to the Freeway/Stadium).
A Plus club house, nice gym, gorgeous pool area surrounded by palm trees, lovely management staff that looks the part and is friendly before you sign your lease, nice clean apartment building...
However-- I've had a major issue with the air quality here. My apartment is too close to the 15 Freeway, which is a 10 lane major super duper freeway which maintains non-stop traffic. The air quality is completely horrid on Charger game days due to the fact that the Charger stadium can pack over 67,000 people into their stadium.
Pair the Carbon Monoxide issue with the fact that just across the freeway there are huge silos owned by Kinder Morgan, which is a gas distribution site for the trucking industry in the entire city of San Diego... and you have a MAJOR HEALTH RISK for anyone living near this particular zone of their apartment community.
I went into the office area to talk with the management about this issue, and they promised that they would talk with their upper management and get back to me on the issue.
Not a call.
They never even made an attempt to call me back on the issue.
I went back into the office and spoke with another manager there-- then they hem hawed around and told me that I would need a doctor's permit to move out of my apartment and break my lease.
What?
-----------
You can easily google and find out that carbon monoxide exposure leads to DEATH!!!
These people never even got back to me on a phone call with this issue!!!
-----------
I'm sorry. This is poor management.
Next.
-----------
I'm now looking into an attorney's appointment, rather than a doctor's appointment.
-----------
My Research Googling the Issue of Carbon Monoxide and living near a Freeway yielded tons of articles that all back up the fact that living near a major freeway causes major heart issues, lung and breathing issues, as well as death.
Looks like this management team would have been smart enough to have just allowed me to move and give back my full deposits. Now, they may be headed for court.
Amazingly Nice.
We lived at La Mirage for February 2010 and for the month we lived there it was amazing!!!
I loved the jogging track aroung the perimeter of the complex, the free exercise CLASSES, amazing pools and spas, vaulted ceilings, the courteous management, and gorgeous views of a golf course on one side and Qualcomm stadium on the other. Be prepared for college students and young couples though. LOTS of partying!!
Management was very understanding. We moved into La Mirage and misjudged our budget and were forced to move out the following month. But management was never condescending or disrespectful. I really felt like they understood and cared about our situation. I was really surprised.
This place is stunning!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone and I have!!
