“Awesome atmosphere, lots to read and watch while you wait for your order.”
“the extra ice cream on top is so yummy.”
“Sit at the bar stools facing the street and you'll be in for some great people-watching.”
“Great food!”
“Hodads is a great place to go if you are looking for a good burger, beer, and fries.”
“The emplyees are friendly and courtious.”
“The regular burgers (like what I ordered) are huge!”
Their double bacon cheeseburger is massive and delicious. I could order only that and be done, but their malts are tasty as well. Long lines are common, but the food is worth it.
Their single bacon cheeseburger is perfection. I love so many things about this place. Flavor, freshness, and execution approaching Platonic idealism. On top of that, it is entirely unpretentious.
Good burgers. A refreshing twist on the local in-n-out burger. Love coming here but sometimes its way packed.
Hodad's New Location.
Hodad's as just opened their new location in Downtown San Diego. It is located at the corner of 10th and Broadway. Regardless of price on the list Hodad's should be rated #1 on any San Diego Best Burger List. Be prepared to stand in line because there is always a line
I always call in my order and take it to go, it is so much quicker.
One of the Best. One of the best in town. Great tasting burgers, cool atmosphere right next to the beach, a definite must taste.
A place to take visiting friends and relatives....
...and dates that you're not ashamed to pig-out in front of.
When San Diego is featured on one of those travelling food tv shows... chances are: they're featuring Hodads.
Such a cool atmosphere, full of awesome decoration, and right next to the beach.
Bacon Burger 4 Life.
sickest burgs in San D.. Awsome is all i gotta say. And that says it all.
Hodad's - Worth The Hype!.
We were very excited about trying this place but were worried about long waits for seating and service. We lucked out and were sat in less than 10 minutes and had drinks within 5-10 mins of placing our order. The food was good, a little under seasoned, but good. And we as a family of four had a check of just around fifty bucks (including shakes and a full order of onion rings)
We enjoyed the food so much we went back the next day and were seated immediately. The single cheeseburger was enough for me and my young sons while my hubby devoured a double. Friendly cashier gave my sons stickers and fun size candy bars.
It is definitely a little grimy - the bathroom had gnats in the trash can - and thankfully a server I saw playing with his ear was not the guy who brought us our food. But all in all, it was worth it.
INCREDIBLE!!!.
EVERY time we are in SD -- which we try to make it once a year -- we go to Hodad's at least 2 or 3 times. It's worth busting your diet over -- trust me. The burgers are killer... even though now I can only eat a mini burger. The shakes are amazing.... the extra ice cream on top is so yummy. The frings... man you can just keep eatin those things.....
If you haven't been -- go..... you won't be disappointed!
Hodad's = Good Grub. t's pretty simple, really. A place with a sign "Under 99 billion Served" has to be pretty badass. We'll if you're lucky enough to see the sign (ace of base reference intended), you're in a magical place called Hodad's. Put simply, the burgers here might just be the most satisfying thing you've ever eaten. With a patty of bacon almost as big as the burger, the Hodad Bacon Cheeseburger is not to be passed up. Add to it an order of "Frings" (a basket of half fries and half uber beer battered onion rings) and a Dr. Pepper (so it's not beer, but it goes pretty damn good with a bacon cheeseburger) and you're good to go. Seriously, don't mess with it. It's amazing. Add to the great food a just general cool vibe ... cue the license plates on the wall, a random drifter or two outside viciously playing air-guitar (come on, it's Ocean Beach), and a $100 all you can eat offer on the menu. This might be the time to note that the burgers are like 6 bucks... but damn, it's still tempting. So head on down to the corner of Newport and Bacon (I couldn't have made that up if I wanted to) and bow down to the holiest of bacon cheeseburgers. All hail Hodad's, creator of some serious Good Grub. See more at www.thegoodgrub.weebly. com
