Avoid Like The Plague - I'm not Kidding, I only wish I were.
Ok, here's the real story about this place. Just got back from a dinner there with my wife. We are a young couple. Firstly, if you've never been to SD, then you may be taken aback by the beauty of
Coronado. However, don't be fooled by this restaurant. I thought that since it was part of the Hotel Del Coronado, then it was sure to be good. i was sure to be dead WRONG!
Where can I start? The Lobster bisque tasted like a big bowl of butter. Speaking of grease, the bread they served was drenched so badly in cheap olive oil that you couldn't help making a mess of your hands, face and chin as you ate it. And it tasted like crap.
The Mussels were not clean. I don't mind a little ocean fuzz on my mussels but that was ridiculous!
The overpriced steaks were dry, tough and really not tasty, even when we asked them to be cooked at medium and medium rare.
For all that, my wife and I, paid a whopping $130 before tip. This place sucked. The wait staff are attentive and friendly, but stay away from the food, for real. I wish I were joking. This place is a horrible, horrible place to eat.
Perhaps it's a good spot by the ocean to have a few drinks but even then, be careful what you wish for.…
Stale Bread, Old Food, Ridiculous Prices. This restaurant embaresses Hotel Del Coronado. This beautiful resort has one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. The meal started off with baskets of bread that looked good until you took a bite. The bread was so stale and had a moldy smell to it. I was with a party of 12 and no one touched the bread. That has never happened before. My salad was wilted and my side of mushrooms were dry and disgusting. I could have ate better at a corner deli. The prices were highway robbery for the quality of food. We paid over $600 for old disgusting food that was hardly edible. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. The only decent thing was the overpriced wine because atleast it tasted good.…
Hotel Del Coronado's oceanfront restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, cocktails and dinner with a breathtaking view from outdoor terraces..
In Short
Whether guests dine indoors in the tropical, elegant dining room or on the expansive outdoor terrace with giant fireplaces, they're treated to an unforgettable view and attentive
service. With an emphasis on California coastal cuisine, the menu ranges from seared ahi nicoise salad and grilled salmon, to braised lamb shanks, lobster ravioli and Angus burgers. The bar offers signature margaritas, blended tropical drinks and premier wines. A chocolate lava bomb is the must-have dessert.…
