5 OUT OF 5 STARS!!! June 2012. My wife and I own a 1984 Hydrostream 20 foot boat, equipped with a Johnson 235 HP V6 outboard engine. Her name is Plenty of Fish (POF). POF was in need of service because she was over heating. I was afraid to take her to a shop for fear of being ripped off. We did our research and came across Affordable Marine Service. We met Dennis when we dropped POF off and we were immediately impressed, not only with his above average knowledge of marine mechanics, but with his deep passion for boating. Dennis expertly analyzed and repaired our boat on time and on budget. He even gave us a military discount. Our POF is running strong as ever. I highly recommend Affordable Marine Service. You will have your boat expertly repaired without the normal hustle and cons that you find at other repair facilities. I don't work for Affordable Marine Service. I am an actual customer that had a very positive experience and want to share it with everyone.

Great Service. We are extremely grateful for your quick and professional service. You made our mechanical problem your priority and we were able to meet our deadline to get the RIB back in the water. We had on only just met you and Laura-Marie and we felt like part of the family.

great service at a great price, finally. Dennis,

You may recall back in June you worked on my steering ram (23' Sportcraft at Campland). It had been buggered up by a wrench grip and the new seal was being cut and was leaking like a stuck tuna.

A replacement ram was not available (only the entire system), so you polished it with a jeweler's file, and asked me to let you know how it worked...

Well, it worked great! I don't think I lost a single drop of fluid the rest of the summer.

Thanks for the cheaper, but workable, solution

Mistakes happen. . .terrible customer service should not.. After reading the many great reviews on the company's site, we felt safe taking our boat to this company--we were dead wrong! The company not only admittedly LOST our keys before even fixing the problems (they later admitted to hot-wiring the boat to do the work), they later claimed to never have had them, despite the sign in sheet which shows the keys were left with the boat and despite the fact that the shop owner admitted to cranking the boat up immediately after receiving the boat and keys. We later found a spare and asked only to be given the money for a copy of the spare and another gas tank key; we were told to come and pick them up and when my fiance went down, he were completely ignored by the mechanic on the telephone and left after about 10 minutes of not being acknowledged. After emailing a third time, we were told to "come pick up our five dollars, " that they were tired of messing with us and we were "pissing [them] off." Additionally, they never completed all the work that was requested despite being paid in full, nor have they even addressed that complaint. Because of the aggresive language in the last response email, we have decided to cut our losses and simply replace the keys and have the additional work done ourselves. Do yourself a favor and do not do business here. "Affordable (?)" but at what cost?
