Black Rose Tattoo. Tattoo shops are known for attitude and each one definitely has its own style. As some shops go, there can be tattoo artists that just love to give the customer a playfully rough time. It can make the experience feel that much more real for the customer; it's all fun and games, until some one gets jabbed with a needle. Ask the kids on Real World La Jolla. They just shot their finale there! But that's all a part of the business at Black Rose Tattoo.

Facing towards the beach on Mission Blvd, Black Rose Tattoo has stood tall for eight years as one of the more seasoned shops in PB. With four artists working full time, they have their hands full doing all sorts of full custom tattoos. They specialize in everything; from abstract graffiti to meticulous realism, and they can do all sorts of cover-ups. Walk-ins are always welcome and setting up appointments is just as good. The kicker is clients will pay by the tattoo, not an hourly rate, which is rare for tattoo shops. Black Rose also keeps its cleaning standards to the ones out in the Las Vegas casinos; it's ridiculously sterile, if you've never been to a Vegas shop.

That's the business side. Walking in you'll probably meet Eddy; he's there all the time. Starting out in Las Vegas, he's been tattooing for 17 years, and knows his craft. In the old school way of tattooing, he'll probably say, gruffly, "What-ya want?" Don't let that fool you. He'll get you the best tattoo, but he'll definitely give a rough time about it. "Fun loving a**-h*les," as he puts it. As old school and traditional as it gets. They're open at noon and won't leave until the last tattoo is done.

Loyal Customer. I have a 1/2 sleeve on my right arm consisting of 4 pieces. My first 2 were done by Erik who unfortunately doesn't work at Black Rose anymore as far as I know and Jim did the last 2 pieces. All 4 pieces are FANTASTIC/BADA$$/PERFECT works of art!! These guys set the bar of standard pretty freaken high and while definitely not being cheap, your not draining your bank account like you would at Guru Tattoo. All in all, I have invested over $1200.00 into this place and I would not think twice about it!! Rock on Black Rose!

AAAAAMAZING. This was my first tattoo at Black Rose but my fiance's third or so! They are the best tattoo shop around! They are all extremely friendly and help make sure you get exactly the tattoo you want! No problems with touch-ups and they make sure you are totally happy. We love them and will be back many many more times! Thanks Briana, you made our day with our tattoos for our puppy! You are an amazingly talented artist.

Custom work at its finest. I recently got a cover up of an old and not so good tattoo. I was amazed at how my artist Jim sat down with me and told me all the opinions there were available. He designed a tattoo for me that I thought to myself ( Will that really work) and it turned out awesome, even my buddies that use to give grief about my old tattoo cant even tell the old one is there. I learned by coming to Black Rose, just let the guy do his work and it will be great.

The Best in CA. Black rose is the best place I have ever received a tat from , I will never go anywhere else. I have recommended atleast 10 friends who traveled 3 1/2 hours to and had outstanding things to say.The truth about you get what you pay for shows it right here at black rose. They are super clean, professional, talented and fixed my current work that someone else screwed up and did a job 10 times better, the color is rich and beautiful that Kyle added. Kyle is my favorite, cool awsome and inteligent. (just dont ever give him sushi lmao) Jim is awsome and kind too. Brad your awsome as well and hope everyone at the shop is doing well.

Tattoo Virgin no more!!. I recently got my first tattoo at Black Rose Custom Tattoo while on vacation. As I told my daughter.... I was very impressed at the cleanliness and friendly atmosphere of the shop. We walked in one morning just to "check it out" and ended up making an appointment to get "Mother /Daughter" tattoos. I was a tattoo virgin..... she already has a sleeve started and many more tats in various places. I trusted her opinion that the Black Rose was one of the best tattoo studios she has ever been in! The artist ERIK rocked!! He was professional, down to earth, patient, creative, and had a fantastic sense of humor. (Yes ERIK.. Rainbow Bright now has an anchor!!) I am a tattoo virgin no more, and would highly recommend Black Rose to one seeking to enhance their pale canvas with some artful color.

Talented and Professional. I've been going to Black Rose for 6 years. My artist Kyle has always done an exceptional job with his intrepretations of what I have wanted. They are and have always been a very professional shop. Their customer service is outstanding and everyone there is friendly and talented. Shame on the preson who left a negative review.

customer for life. I have been coming to Black Rose now for the past 4 years, and have never been disappointed with how the artists have interpreted my ideas. They are amazing at what they do, and their shop is top notch. You feel welcome there and comfortable exchanging ideas to get the finished product you want. If you want quality work, you found your place.

Best shop all around. My name is Erik and I work at Black Rose Tattoo. Obviously the person below has a personal vendetta against me or my shop. Please come down and see how professional we are and the cleanliness of our studio. We are constantly praised by our customer service and this is a form of slander. We work with many

local studios and have a great cross-clientel relationship. The quality of our artwork speaks for itself as well as our professionalism. The situation in the artical below did not happen and never would.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!. If you're thinking about getting a tat go anywhere but this place. Customer service is horrible, the shop is dirty... it's nasty! I went there to get a tat, I already knew what I wanted and this guy "ERIK" started to criticize and whine about what I wanted. Man, I'm paying I don't care what you think. He was extremely rude and the end result was awful, lines were crooked...a mess, I went back for a touch up and the guy said I had to pay again, RIDICULOUS. I had to fix it in another shop. Don't waste your time!!!!!
