Great People!. Surfing is a huge part of our identity here on the west coast and we’re proud to have some of the best beaches for it right here in San Diego. Since the 1960’s people have been learning that surfing really is one of the best ways to get out there and enjoy the water. If your kids always wanted to learn how to surf or maybe you yourself have always wanted to give it a try, there are plenty of ways to get into the water; but by far the best way is to learn from someone who really knows what they’re doing. That’s why there is Surfari in Mission Beach, family-owned and operated, there is no better surf school in the area.

All ages are welcome at Surfari and most clients are up and riding by their third wave. Put best by owner Rick Gehris, “The only requirement is the desire to learn. If you can walk you can surf.” Maybe you’re just visiting and you want to go back home knowing you gave our lifestyle the full go. Surfari has everything available to rent that you need to get in the water like boards, wetsuits and rash guards. If you’re a little hesitant at being out in the waves, Rick has 10 years of experience as a life guard so you know it’s safe out there. Surfari offers lessons year round, 7 days a week at multiple times throughout the day. All lessons are 2.5 hours and consist of a land instruction, water instruction and independent practice. Surfari also offers surf camps during the summer. Camps are 5 days of 4-hour instructions. Camps are offered for ages 8 – 13 as well as 13 and up. Some of the differences you’ll find at Surfari besides the cost is a customer satisfaction initiative as well as lockers, in-house showers and a shop location just a block from the beach.

So if your kids are begging you to learn or you’ve always wanted to give it a try, come to Mission Beach and talk to Surfari about receiving expert instructions. You’ll be set for life on getting out and enjoying the waves all over the west coast.

Best Surf Shop. I am from Charlotte, NC and have been visiting Surfari every summer for about six years now. All of the prices are very affordable and well worth the cost. The owner Rick and all of the insructors are amazing people and surfers. They are very helpful, kind, and truely care about the well being and safety of their students. The lessons are taught thorougly with well trained knowledge and you will come out of the lesson knowing everything you need to about surfing. Just being around people associated with Surfari and in the shop brightens my day.

Awesome surf lesson. My friends talked me into taking a surf lesson and I had an amazing time. I am from Atlanta and I have never been in the ocean before. I can't believe that I actually stood up and rode a wave in the Pacific Ocean. I am so happy with this whole experience and want to thank my instructor Rory for doing a wonderful job.

Surfari surf school. My grandson, 10 years old, wanted to have surfing lessons as a birthday present. I decided to take him to Surfari Surf School and it turned out to be the best experience he has ever had. My grandson needs to exercise and he was fascinated with his experience. His instructor was enthusiastic with his performance and encouraged him through every step. I would highly recommend Surfari Surf!

San Diego Spring Break. On behalf of our entire family, I want to say thanks and great job! We took a surf lessons at Surfari as a last minute idea and it turned out better than expected. Aaron was our instructor and he was awesome!!! He was patient, clear, and easy to follow. Hats off to him and the rest of the Surfari crew that helped make our spring break lots of fun!

See you next time!!!
