Toast to hearty foods and a friendly, casual Irish vibe in the middle of the Gaslamp.. In Short
Smiling bartenders welcome patrons at all hours of the day. Morning fare ranges from traditional (ham and eggs) to adventurous (french toast crusted with Cap'N Crunch cereal. For lunch and dinner, find chicken sandwiches, steaks and burgers that the restaurant boasts are "bigger than an Irishman's heart." At later hours the eating gives way to dancing and occasional live music, but Hennessey's still provides a laid-back respite from the glitzier downtown scene.

Go on a Tuesday. They have 2 for Tuesday deals. You can either buy one get one Breakfast or Burger. Definitely a great deal! That's what caught my eye and made us stop in for lunch. We got burgers on this visit. My friend got the Hawaiian and couldn't stop licking his fingers from all the teriyaki sauce dripping off. I just got the original plane burger. The meat tasted like home made burger patties, not pre-made store bought frozen ones. They were so hot and fresh that we couldnt' put them down, even as much as they were burning our mouths. They were too good. We didn't realize that chips came with the burgers, so we also ordered a side of cheese fries. The fries weren't so good. They were very dry and a little expensive. I would definitely still go back, especially on a Tuesday.

Awesome service. Visited while on vacation - needed to eat quickly. Awesome servers and cute, too. Great food and Guinness. Went back at night time - met some great new friends.......good singles bar.
