Awesome Chicken. I have been eating here for over 20 years. I can truly say that Murrieta's is in my top 3 Mexican restaurants in San Diego. I love this place.

What makes a Mexican restaurant good? Of course, great tasting food is a must, but I also think great salsa, good rice and beans, and some tasty margaritas puts you over the top. A few special dishes that other restaurants don't have definitely helps too. So here is why Murrieta's is one of the best:

Food: 4.5

Salsa: 5

Rice and Beans: 5

Margaritas: 4

Special Dishes: 5 - Pollo Sonora*

*Pollo Sonora takes 30 minutes to make, so order it as soon as you sit down). You have to try this at least once, you'll love this chicken.

Also, this restaurant recently build an outdoor patio which is a perfect place to dine with friends, or just have some great chips, salsa and margaritas.
