“Best cali burrito”

I think the prices could be better but they do serve the best tacos for a mexican restaurant.
World's best taco shop. Anyone in southbay knows Lolita's is the best taco shop around. And this is the best location. I used to go to the one on Telegraph but they've cut back on portion sizes and no salsa bar. I considered a 4-star rating because they just raised prices but at the end of the day, it's worth it.
TOOOO EXPENSIVE and OVERATED. My friend suggested this place since I am a vegetarian and they have potato tacos. The combination plate alone was $7 + 85 cents extra (per taco) for the sour cream I wanted, and 90 cents extra (per taco) for the guacamole I wanted. So all together for 2 tacos w/beans & rice= $10.55. Ha ha..out of control, they lost a customer the very day they gained one...
Best cali burrito.
I've yet to have a better California burrito in san diego!
I've gone to 4 of the 5 locations and I'll say so far this one in bonita is the best! To make this burrito even better ask them to add guacamole (its extra, but definitely worth it)
Legendary local taco shop serves more than just street meat, with burritos, tostadas, and house made chips, salsa and guacamole..
In Short
With four locations in San Diego and a fifth scheduled to open downtown near Petco Park, this taco shop has been a local's favorite for 25 years. Founders Joaquin and Dolores Farfan coined the restaurant's motto "patience is the essence o fine Mexican food" to reflect the fact that all orders are prepared fresh and take a little longer than typical fast food restaurants. Regulars rave about the carne asada fries, California burrito and chicken chimichangas, but the menu also includes several combo plates served with rice, beans, guacamole and tortillas.
Good Mexican Food. Lolita's is what it says it is: Mexican Food. Good Mexican food. Its not greasy and its authentic. The signature dishes are the carne asada fries and california burrito. Skip the taco bells and del taco and head on over to Lolita's. you won't be sorry. The only gripe i have about them is they charge extra for asking for extra guacamole, cheese, sour cream, etc.
Longing for the old days.
Having relocated in 2004, Lolita's Taco Shop use to be the quintessential hole in the wall Taco Shop in the Bonita Valley . . . and in many ways, it still is. However, it is not the best of the best that it use to be.
Part of a chain that started with its location on Telegraph Canyon Road, it was once well known for a responsive staff, quality product, and huge and filling portions. Although the quality of the ingredients are still far better then most taco shops the process of time has hurt this location. Having moved only a couple yards form its former location, the new location was suppose to provide a more middle class setting, with a self-serve soda fountain, more seating, and a full on salsa bar. However, the restaurant feels more cramp then it use due to its ackward shape, the salsa bar has reverted to the usual red and green hot sauces that you can find in any Taco Shop, and to pay for it all . . . they increased the prices and decreased the portion size.
Although you can get a sizable Carne Asada Fries (one of the two signature food products (the other is the California Burrito)) . . . it will only be that way if you get it to go. So consider yourself warned.
If you want to feel how the old Bonita location felt . . . go to the Kearny Mesa Location.
