With four locations in San Diego and a fifth scheduled to open downtown near Petco Park, this taco shop has been a local's favorite for 25 years. Founders Joaquin and Dolores Farfan coined the restaurant's motto "patience is the essence o fine Mexican food" to reflect the fact that all orders are prepared fresh and take a little longer than typical fast food restaurants. Regulars rave about the carne asada fries, California burrito and chicken chimichangas, but the menu also includes several combo plates served with rice, beans, guacamole and tortillas.

I've yet to have a better California burrito in san diego! I've gone to 4 of the 5 locations and I'll say so far this one in bonita is the best! To make this burrito even better ask them to add guacamole (its extra, but definitely worth it)

My husband and I go to Lolitas at least twice a week and I have only ordered the shrimp burrito. They are fabulous!! The only think I dont like is it is hard to make special orders because they dont understand English very well. I always ask for mine without butter and both mine and my husbands are always the same.

Living in the bay area makes me really miss mexican food. Lolita's has to be my 2nd favorite mexican food place in san diego. They're portions are okay and they raised their prices from the last time I ate there. I recommend the carne asada fries and the california burrito.

Save Time:
Expect to wait here, both in line to place your order (it's a local favorite) and then for your order to come up. But it's worth it.
