Best Produce is a little produce and grocery gem on the edge of La Mesa and San Diego. The little store always open from 8-8. If I am early or running late with dinner and do not want to go into the neon lit super big grocery for eggs, onions or bell peppers and be ripped off every second! I also enjoy looking at foods I never ate before challenging my taste buds to have diet higher in fruits and vegs. They have best golden apples and papaya. Best Produce under its shabby façade is a chic international market promoting global awareness and cuisine with prices to save your gold. They have every thing you need for tiramisu and a Dr. Oketer’s mix too. They have lovely melty Swiss cheese and the every feta the world has to offer. At Best, they have a friendly service and are very helpful. They offer an excellent selection of dried herbs, coffee, rice’s, olives and olive oils and plenty of fresh and organic local vegetables in season along with interesting ready to eat international meal packages and ready Pac- salads. They have fine assortment of Swiss chocolate and mineral waters. In addition, the store has all sugar sodas with no high fructose corn syrup along with the 99-cent chip bags like other corner establishments. The store has very friendly services and is bilingual in Arabic, German and Spanish.
Pros: easy in and outs
Cons: the parking lot does get full during dinner times 5-7

She offers cheeses from France, Switzerland, Bulgaria and Mexico and butters from France and Denmark. Yummy. I am a diary lover so I was excited to see all the beautiful varieties of dairy products they offer. Of course, all sorts of fresh fruits and veggies and some organic which I find unique to offer in a small store like this. Love organic products. For you coffee lovers who are conscious, they offer ORGANIC fair trade coffee and a variety of beautiful teas. And, to go with your tasty coffee or tea they offer some delicious sweets from Italy, Turkey, the middle east and even Armenia. This is my weak spot so as soon as I walk in the store I go to the sweet and bread shelf. Additionally they offer olive oils from different countries, including organic and pomace at such reasonable prices. I am a person who loves to entertain with exotic food and this is the place. You must check it out for yourself because I could go on and on about all they offer--you should just stop in and make it YOUR grocer for all your international and fresh produce needs.
