My wife and I were going on a 4 week trip to London so we started looking for a place for Buddy to stay while we were away. We found several kennels on the Internet that we were intrested in. After talking to Mr. Rowe at the La Mesa Pet Hotel we decieded to leave Buddy at the La Mesa Pet Hotel while we were away. 4 weeks later we arrived at LAX and hurried back to San Diego to pickup Buddy. We were running a little late so my wife called and talked to Mr. Rowe and Mr. Rowe said he would be able to wait a little while since had been a month since we had seen Buddy. We arrived at 6:05 pm and Mr. Rowe and Buddy wre waiting for us in the office. GREAT JOB LA MESA PET HOTEL!!!!!!!!!

Never Bored There!. I went there for a work interview, the place was cold, damp, smelly and dirty. The dogs are "handled" four times a day. Meaning they get taken in and out of one kennel and put back in later. The place is very old and falling apart! The owners are very rude and do not care about the animals. A dog broke it's tooth while I was there because it wanted out of it's kennel so badly, and when I asked if we were going to take it the vet I got chewed out! The owner of the dog was upset about the tooth and when called to ask what happend the owner of the place yelled at her saying it wasn't "our fault" that the dog had issues. They one of their own dogs there that was skin and bones, couldn't even walk! They just kinda tossed her in and out or it's kennels. I was asked to help train a dog of thiers a very sweet rotti, but refused to use a choke chain, was yelled at because "choke chains are the only way" to train the dog, the dog was smart just needed a little TLC I taught her using positive reinforcement to sit, down and stay with in five mins! The owners couldn't even get her to do that!

Try PetSmart's Pet Hotel, Four Paws Flying Resort, or AMC but not here ever!!

Disappointed!. We are very disappointed with this place. First, they misplaced my dog's leash (owner said it was mistakenly sent with a different dog). Next, my dog had an ugly bald spot on his thigh that they didn't even mention --- I noticed it on the way to my car and so I went back to ask the owner what happened. He looked at it and said 'it appears he chewed himself!' I wanted to say 'it appears you didn't even notice or care when you are supposed to be watching him! I got out of there fast and made a promise never to return. But that is not the end of it --- we got home and my dog won't eat. He was having severe loose and bloody stools! I took him to the vet the following day and was told he picked up some infection and FLEAS! My dog is always current with his shots but I remember the owner never asked for proof so he obviously isn't implementing the 'shots' rule strictly. This is scary. Now my dog is under medication and I am still waiting for the results on his stool sample. I am very, very upset and will never return nor recommend this place to anyone!

BEWARE!!! VERY RUDE OWNER--- TIM ROWE. DO NOT BOARD HERE!!! The owner is very rude, you can hear them yelling at the dogs from across the street. Would you take your pet to a place to stay if they would not let you take a tour of the kennels!!!!! NOT ME !!NEVER AGAIN. My daughter use to work there and she quit because the management was sooo rude and did not care at all about the pets, the place smells bad all the time, if the dogs do not eat there food within 30 min they take the food away-------BAD PLACE--BEWARE!!! TRY Animal Medical Center East County for boarding, they are wonderful and will always let you tour the kennels---A++++ PLACE
