Great Service and Great Food. I've recently went on craze for Mexican food, I've been to all the top notch restaurants town and also the small shacks like Senior Grubby's and Bull Taco (both great by any standards). However, to my suprise nothing satisfied me quite like Rubio's.

When I entered I was quickly greated and taken at the register. When imparting that it was my first time at the restaurant, the cashier quickly started suggesting some of his favorite foods. The enthusiasm that the cashier expressed was making everything sound good!

I choose the fish taco plate, which had two tacos with beans and chips. For around 5 dollars the plate satisfied. The fish tacos were fantastic! The white sause was a treat! The beans had perfect balance of taste and spice and the chips were warm and crisp.

After my meal I was thanked "by name" upon my departure!

I'll be going back!

After years of traveling to Baja California and enjoying fish tacos at beachside stands, Ralph Rubio opened his first restaurant in San Diego in 1983, banking on the south-of-the-border favorite. Today, Rubio's are located throughout the Southwest serving tacos, burritos salads and more. Baja-style fish tacos are the specialty--beer-battered Alaskan Pollack, cabbage and salsa in a soft corn tortilla. Street tacos (carnitas, carne asada, chicken), quesadillas, nachos and taquitos are other popular options.
