Does well in spite of itself....
3 simple things a good restaurant needs: service, ambience and food quality. For service, we waited over 40 minutes for a table with a reservation. anbience, would anyone really want to sit in the alley portion of the restaurant? and quality is completely overrated. for a $200 meal for 4 and $30 steaks one would think that the steak would have flavor to it.
The one, and I repeat one, thing this restaurant has going for it is the view of the sunset. However I recommend purchasing a few Carls Jr hamburgers and driving your car to the beach for a better experience. You will also save about $195.

Great Restaurant, View, and Food.
This is a great spot to dine when in the village of Del Mar, my girlfriend and I where up in Del Mar last weekend and had an early dinner at Sbicca on the roof. The weather was beautiful the view is great and the food and service could not have been better. Our waiter who's name I cannot remember was very good and suggested a great wine to enjoy with our dinner. We were in no rush so we finished eating and enjoyed the rest of our bottle of wine while the dinner crowd began to come in. We will definately be coming back and recommending Sbicca to our friends as this is a wonderful place to dine and enjoy Del Mar at it's finest!

The world's best flavors are showcased at this seaside bistro which features some of California's top views and wine selections..
In Short
It's called a bistro, but fare spans from southern cuisine to surf-and-turf favorites and there's even a hint of the Mediterranean at this bustling seaside eatery. Four dining spaces to choose from, the rooftop patio with ocean view is popular. Prosciutto wrapped prawns with goat cheese feta and 25 year balsamic is an excellent start. For an entree, the maple roasted pork prime rib with sweet potatoes and pecan butter is hard to beat.
