Although this locals hangout resembles a 1950s coffee shop with a counter, round bar stools and checkered floor, the menu reveals the chef is influenced by many types of ethnic cuisine. Bountiful breakfasts include cinnamon French toast, burritos and omelettes, while lunch features grilled sandwiches and nine tempting salads. Dinner is a bit more formal with stylish tablecloths and dishes like grilled New Zealand lamb chops, seared scallops with ginger sauce, and rack of lamb.

Super-small, not the friendliest waitstaff but the food was great. I had the goats cheese portobella omelet and loved it. My daughter had the pancakes and those were yummy too. Worth it :)

This is a very traditional rustic piece of americana(just as the name indicates!) using fresh and different ingredients the dining experience was very memorable! the pan seared scallops just melted. Mind that you pay for this in price but if you're looking for a warm experience that isnt your typical food fare, give this place consideratin!

I have always loved going to Americana - we had been going there for years...until today! We have a special needs child and a new born baby. We ate lunch there and ordered our food. My sister ordered a salad and asked them to add chicken to it. When the food arrived her salad did not have chicken on it. We had to ask several people to send our server over to our table. By the time she came to our table (about 10 min later) we had pretty much finished our lunch. My sister told the server she forgot the chicken and the server rushed off saying she was sorry. About 10 minutes later, we were waiting for our check and the chicken arrived at the table. It was salty and touch tasting. Then we saw they charged us $6.95 for the chicken and couldn't believe it!! I asked the server if she could please take the $6.95 off the bill b/c the chicken had arrived so late we basically didn't want it any more. She said she'd talk to the manager but she doubts he'll take the charge off. The manager came to our table and was incredibly rude - saying we got the chicken and should pay for it. He apologized for the server forgetting to put the order in, but said we got the chicken (20 minutes late and not on the salad) but that we should fork over the money. My husband started to discuss the issue of customer service with him, but this guy couldn't care less about customer service. I want to tell all the future customers of Americana how rude this manager was to us and how incredibly horrible his concern for his customers' experience is. If you are thinking of eating out in Del Mar there are plenty other nice restaurants to go to who probably will value your business more than Americana. Americana's attitude is the customer is wrong - and how dare we ask for a charge to be removed. If you go there you'd better hope they get your order right, because you'll be paying for it either way!!

Stop in for Happy Hour Tues-Sat from 5:30-7pm for $1 off all cocktails. On Wednesdays bottles of wine are half price.
What to Drink:
Try the Sea Grove Sunset, a blend of vodka, pineapple juice, orange juice andgrenadine or a Vanilla Breeze martini.
