WORST EVER! Abyssmal service & horrible food!
by catiesd
We have been to the restaurant about a half dozen times in the past year and each time the quality of the food and service has declined little by little. But last night was a new low. We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken - iced tea for my husband and lemonade (powdered tasting) for myself. Our waiter told us the specials and took our appetizer order for the chicken and vegetable gzoyas. The appetizers arrived after some time and were good. But then the meal took a turn for the worse. We both happened to order some of the priciest items on the menu. Sear ahi for my husband and filet mignon for myself, both with mashed potatoes on the side. My husband's ahi tasted as though it had been recently de-thawed with an almost chemical after taste and my filet, which I asked for medium well, could have been cheap sirloin as it tasted like shoe leather. We immediately, and very calmly and kindly, let our waiter know about the situation and he left with both of our plates and what appeared to be an eye roll as he turned to leave and see the manager. My husband and I were truly taken aback at his insincerity. He returned a few minutes later with the offer of replacing our meals with new food or in his words "you can just pay for your drinks and split". Of course the manager never came to the table as he obviously could of cared less about fixing the situation or making us happy. Astonishing! The waiter was made to come to our table to deliver his very insincere apology and the offer to leave if we just paid for our drinks!! (again $11 worth of a watered down iced tea and a lemonade). Where was our motivation to stay? My husband left $15 cash and we left to go find somewhere else to eat. After last night, we obviously have no desire in returning and will be letting our friends know about our experience. We have gotten better patron service (and food for that matter) at Chilis! I'll be telling all of my friends to look elsewhere for finer dining in the area.
- Pros: Decent bar (though poor service)
- Cons: Horrible service, terrible food
BAD PLACE TO EAT

I've read great reviews for Mesquite Restaurant and my husband and I were very excited to try this restaurant. We went there last night...both my husband and I are extremely sick still.... The service was terrible and so was the food. I had a Big Pete sushi roll and my husband had the "fresh"fish tacos. When my husbands came out it didn't smell right but he, like a man, just ate it anyway. My sushi roll tasted weird but I thought it was due to the spices on it. Anyway an hour later we were both throwing up. We had nothing else to eat that day so we know it was this restaurant. Lets talk about the service... When we first walked in we were not greeted. We had a nasty girl say" 2? come on" Not even eye contact. so we sit down and wait to have someone come talk to us. But we saw that the staff was more interested in standing at the bar talking about the "hot girls that walked in" then serving us. Needless to say...we will not be returning to this restaurant and will encourage everyone not to go to here as well. Maybe it is better as a bar then a restaurant but all I know is that we paid $62 to be throwing up for 2 days. AWESOME! If I could give it a negative 5 stars...I would.
- Pros: Close to home
- Cons: everything about this restaurant
