Great food, great service and shady employees.
I'd give this place a better review for the food and service. Unfortunately, when people steal from me, I cannot be so generous a second time around.
We had a $40.00 bill, paid the waitress a $10.00 cash tip. Paid with atm card and noted 'cash' on the tip line of the payment slip.
Read my bank statement today and they added an addition 20% to the bill.
They received nearly $20.00 on a $40.00 tab. I am beyond disgusted.
This restaurant is in an exclusive neighborhood, crowded all day and has high income customers. You'd think the wait staff would not feel the need to steal from customers.
This was my first time at this restaurant and they nearly had a customer for life...till I realized they are thieves. NEVER again will they have the chance to steal from me.
And a lesson learned: always pay the entire bill in cash, or risk be taken for a ride from unscrupulous restaurant employess who think you'll never notice the discrepancy. I'll never trust another wait person ever again.
Wonderful food, atmosphere, and prices!. Very good food, we were sat surprisingly fast and couldn't get enough of there dozens of different flavored waffles! I never thought a restaurant would outrank IHOP for me in the breakfast category, but this one takes the "crepe", so-to-speak... :)
Made-to-order breakfasts---including over a dozen unique flapjacks---stack the odds in this restaurant's favor..
In Short
Founded in Oregon circa 1953, this simply-furnished spot owes its success to its creative menu and fresh ingredients. Batters are made on the premises; a special "sourdough starter" keeps treats from tasting overly sweet. Patrons choose from eggs, waffles, crepes and oven-baked omelets, as well as signature plates like blueberry pancakes (served with or without compote), giant cinnamon-glazed apple pancakes, thin and chewy "49-ers" and the air-filled, lemon-and-sugar-topped "Dutch Baby."
