Honeyâ??s Bakery and Bistro. Honey's Bistro & Bakery on South Coast Hwy 101 Encinitas is a local favorite that will take you back to your grandma's kitchen. Jaime Osuna runs this family owned business with the help of his daughter Diana and his son Jaime who work there daily! Jaime states, "My kids have watched how everything works here after 15 years of business so it is natural that they work here since they are so experienced!" While speaking with Jaime I learned that he is also the owner of all three Swami's in Encinitas, Oceanside and La Mesa. I was wondering why the Honey's Acai Bowl was allowed to say 'Swami's Style'. Jaime went on to explain why the cafe was called Honey's. He stated, "Everything we make here has honey in it including our homemade granola and muffins."

Honey's Bistro & Bakery most popular items are the Acai Bowls 'Swami's Style' and the specials. The Acai Bowl is made with their homemade granola at the bottom followed by the Acai mixture and blueberries, raspberries, boysenberries, local fresh bee pollen, coconut and of course the honey on top! The most popular special is the California Scrambler, which is made with asparagus, spinach, avocado, tomato, red onion, mushrooms, zucchini, red peppers and Swiss cheese. Two other specials are the Green Omelets and the Lobster Eggs Benedict. Other popular items are the homemade omelets and their homemade bread. Jaime explains, "We make everything from scratch!"

Honey's Bistro & Bakery supports the local community by giving local artists to show and sell their work on the walls. The current artist is a Eva Zamora who has many beautiful beach photographs displayed. Jaime states, "We support a ton of non-profits. Pretty much anyone who walks in and needs support, we give it. Our most recent sponsorship was the Encinitas Soccer League." When I asked Jaime what his favorite part was about owning Honey's Bistro and Swami's he said, "Every week I get to see my customers. Some have been coming weekly for the 15 years we have been in business!" Take some time to grab a famous Swami's Style Acai Bowl, a yummy omelete or Jaime's favorite homemade Corned Beef Hash from Honey's Bistro & Bakery on South Coast Highway 101 Encinitas.

Loved the Coffee. I love supporting independent cafe's & restaurants vs typical franchise restaurants & places like this one make it super easy to do that. The coffee selection was great, the potato bread excellent & my omellette delicious. It is a great spot to people watch. Luckily the wife & I went during the week & didn't have a problem finding a table but I can easily see how it can be busy on the weekends. A gem of a place in a great seaside town. I wish I could keep it a secret but it just wouldn't be fair to the world.

Being on coast highway in Encinitas is like dying and going to restaurant heaven. Go here for breakfast, I've never tried anything that wasn't well above my expectations. They have rows of different kinds of fresh coffee and multiple kinds of tea. They also have delicious bakery items, all fresh baked. I recommend getting an omelet with avocado, bacon, and cheese with sour dough toast, or the eggs benedict with their fresh hollandaise sauce!
