You have to go!.
Another amazing night at Chloe. I know you have seen me rant and rave here before, but seriously, this place is a true gem.
I had the lamb chops (again) tonight. Seriously, they were the best lamb chops I have ever eaten. No kidding, the best. I have eaten lamb here before and they were excellent- tonight they were epic.
Ah... now another nice glass of wine and perhaps a dessert.
You guys just don't know what you are missing.
Thank You for opening your doors in San Diego!. Authentic french menu - for the daring or not. Excellent service. Fabulous decor (can I live here?). Interesting drinks, as well as food.
Love it!. Love the food, the ambiance is very chic and haven't found another local cafe that serves my favorite Illy espresso! Forget Starbucks- so overrated. You need to try Cafe Chloe. This is a true cafe and local treat. Only downfall is that although the staff is very nice, they are very slooow and my server stood and chatted with another server for several minutes while holding my latte as I watched it get cold. When my food arrived, I ate it with my latte spoon as my server was once again chatting it up with another server instead of bringing me silverware and napkin. The brie omlette more than made up for it and he apologized so all is good and I will definately be back.
Awesome. This place is fantastic! Service and food is great, also fairly priced! Ambiance is OK, go early on the weekend to grab a good table!
Good but slow. As it was Bastille Day, my boyfriend and I sought out a recommended French restaurant for dinner. When we arrived at Cafe Chloe, we first noticed its casual, romantic, and refined atmosphere. We were promptly seated, which unfortunately was nearly the only prompt thing about Cafe Chloe. After having finished our tartiflette reblochon starter, which was in itself original, we had to wait for thirty minutes for our main course of cassoulet au confit de canard. In the meantime, not a single person checked on us. Only after having finished our wine did our main course come. The server apologized for the wait as did the manager. The duck was moist and tender to the point of falling off the bone. Although good, the cassoulet itself was more an American-style casserole than a proper cassoulet. After having asked for the check, we were told the owner was kind enough to take the starter off the bill. So even though we had to wait half an hour for our dinner, I would still recommend Cafe Chloe. It was an overall good experience.
The charm of a Parisian Bistro in the heart of San Diego....
Cafe Chloe offers the charm of a neighborhood bistro and the quality food of a gourmet restaurant. I have had dinner twice in the past week and both experiences were incredible: Service is casual but efficient; food is neatly presented but without pretention; wine is reasonably priced with a sufficient selection; the atmosphere is quaint but not stuffy.
Special mention to the Tartiflette... I felt like "home"!
Highly recommended!
Best Bistro in San Diego!. Cafe' Chloe represents one of my fondest memories of San Diego. I am currently away and miss this cozy, charming, intimate bistro/cafe'/wine bar. The design of everything, from the menu to the furniture and the spaces--various nooks and crannies to dine in (sooo romantic!) --is exquisitely detailed. It wasn 't unusual for me to go there 2/3 times a week and always have a different experience. I love the sophisticated choices of food, drinks and wines, the friendly staff, so attentive and bent to put everyone at ease, love the small gift area with books on food, wine, and Provence, and absolutely adore the music. Everything about Cafe' Chloe is about ambiance. When I walk in the door it's like being transported to Europe for few hours:)
Unbelievable atmosphere. So glad I read the other reviews and took the reccommendation. This place is so comfortable and beautiful. The attention to detail is beyond what I have experience in even the finest of restaurants. Even their table bases are unlike any I had ever seen. Went to a happy hour with a large group on Monday Evening (they are NOT closed) and had a blast. One girl in our party had to bring her little boy and they even had a toy box for him to peruse. We can't wait to go back.
quaint lovely spot with a beautiful drink selection. I have had the pleasure of going to Cafe Chloe twice within the past 2 weeks. Once for just drinks and I was extremely impressed with the breadth of wine list selections. The last time was for dinner and drinks and the food was amazing. We had the steak and pomme frites (to die for!), smoked trout salad and a delightful mushroom quiche. Complete with a pleasant bottle of Bourdeaux. I only wish we had room for dessert. Oh too bad, I guess I'll have to go back! p.s. the Champagne cocktails look amazing. I beleive there is some dreamy lavender infused cocktail there which is the next thing to try on my list.
Fantastic French. I don't even live in San Diego and adore Cafe Chloe. I was in San Diego for a week once and went three times...twice for dinner and once for brunch. For dinner, the lamb with israeli couscous and butternut squash is perfect. The best lamb I've ever had in a restaurant. For brunch, the duck sausage and epoisse omelette is amazing. Like the editor says, the European portions are great and leave you completely satisfied.
