Praise the Lord and Pass the Biscuits! A Must See Experience............. The House of Blues Gospel Brunch is famous for a reason, it's FANTASTIC! If you leave there hungry, it's your own fault. From biscuits and gravy, cheese grits, sausage, waffles, even an omelet bar. The fried chicken is not to be beat. For those who are vegetarian, you're still in luck with salads, fruit, muffins, eggs, white chocolate banana bread pudding....they've got it all.

If that wasn't enough, once you've filled your stomach, the gospel choir will fill your heart and move your soul. Everyone gets into the act with the entire audience clapping to the music and waving their cloth napkins high in the air.

Gospel music not your taste. You're STILL in luck. The dinners here are fantastic too. The ribs are out of this world. They are the fall off the bone kinda ribs. With wonder sides such as garlic mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, crispy green beans, all delicious. This is an experience you won't want to miss!

Haven't had Jambalaya like this since my last visit to New Orleans. I love creole/southern food and it's hard to find anything good in San Diego. When someone mentioned I might find some good home cooking at House of Blues I was a little surprised. But from the deliciously yummy rosemary cornbread (that the recommended - I am not a cornbread fan, but decided to try it) to the real traditional jambalaya and the smoked ribs!!!! and lastly we had some of their bread pudding I was impressed to say the least. The wait for a table was a little long, but it looked like they were going to have a really good concert that night. Our server was busting her butt to get our table served and keep our drinks from getting empty. We both left fat and happy and will be going back when we get a craving for some good southern food!

Fool me once, shame on you...... You know the saying...fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me, well - what's the rhyme for fool me 4 times.

I've given the House of Blues Restaurant in San Diego multiple chances. I've taken co-workers for lunch, I've gone before a show, I've tried happy hour but I can't seem to find a time where the wait staff in the restaurant is on point, let alone - alive.

Each experience is the same. I arrive, with friends and we approach the host stand. The hostesses are always friendly and do their job perfectly. It's after we are sat that everything starts to go downhill.

It has never been LESS then 12 minutes that we sit there, waiting for a drink order to be taken or for a waiter/ess to even introduce themselves. The longest I've waited was 20 min. and the saddest part of that experience was that the restaurant wasn't even busy. What ever happen to the days where someone automatically brings you water and sees if they can get you anything else?

Getting your food order taken is a whole other ordeal of waiting but that's not the worst part. The worst is waiting for the food itself to come out.

One trip I took there during a lunch hour from work with some co-workers I waited 40 minutes for a fruit plate. I initially ordered the fruit plate because I knew they had slow service (from my previous 2 trips there) and thought I could make it easier for them by ordering something which didn't even have to be cooked. Fruit and yogurt plate, how hard could it be? The funny part was my co-workers all ordered hot foods and theirs came out at the half hour mark (still a long time for 2 people to wait for food - but hey, at least it came, right?). Eventually, I just asked for my fruit plate to go because once it was ready - we had to . The waitress apologized, but it was obvious that she didn't care. Again, she disappeared and it took another 10 minutes for the bill.

The service is horrible in their restaurant. Save your money and go ANYWHERE else.

Rock out to headline bands and performers at this intimate, legendary live music and dance venue.. In Short
A whole lot of soul and a line up of A-list performers make San Diego's own HOB a prime destination for the music lover or rock star in everyone. Cajun-syle soul food packs the menu, and the restaurant's colorful, Southern decor complements the eclectic, engaging staff. It's a multilevel venue but not large by any means, making all concerts feel like a front row experience without steep, floor-level prices.

Awesome choir. The Sunday brunch is awesome! The gospel music is truly something to experience, and the food is really good too. Certainly worth checking out.
