Know Before You GoHip still means hard-to-find in the Gaslamp. JBar is unmarked on the outside of the hotel. Enter the main lobby and take the elevator on the left up to the 4th floor.
ParkingSkip the pricey valet and the on-street spots in surrounding alleys. Pull in to the well-lit Park It On Market garage just two blocks north for a secure space at just $7 for the night.
When to GoProximity to Petco Park means long lines when the Padres are in town. Arrive well before 10pm on game days.

JBar has a lot of outdoor space. It doesn't have the views that Altitude has but it has some good spaces to sit down and relax with a large group of people. Get there early if you're out Saturday night as it can get to capacity. Look for the Brazilian babe (statue) in the back corner by one of the firepits...

At first you think you are walking into a restaurant, but an elevator takes you up to the rooftop. I love how all these new clubs have cabanas outside its so New York-issh. They have benches/beds where you can just chill. No cover which is great but they do close down early on certain nights. There is always good looking people.
Cons: They close really early on certain nights.
