In Short – The vibe in this one-room square space filled with small cafe tables is that of a local corner bar in southern Spain. Friends lean in over a glass of wine and plate of olives as if deciding which hostel to meet up at next. Anyone who's backpacked through Europe will feel right at home with the Mediterranean menu of tortilla Espanola, cheese plates and paninis. The only things missing are unfolded maps and Eurorail passes.

Truly a Hidden Gem

I only discovered the Turquoise a year or two ago, and it is hands down my favorite place for dinner and drinks; first it's the ambience that hooked me, but the food is amazing, the service is friendly and attentive, the music is wonderful, and everyone is smiling--it’s really out of this world. I actually took a picture of my dish on Mother’s Day last year because it was such perfectly crafted haute cuisine, it was delectable, and yet it’s very inexpensive! Even better, I just discovered that they've added a bunch of new things to the menu, and they’re offering a new happy hour menu that’s fantastically reasonable (3$, if I remember correctly, for the tapas, and the portions are huge). Furthermore, the live music has been remarkable (jazz, blues, or flamenco, they change it up). This place is so civilized, sophisticated, and at the same time the height of decadence, and the owner has taken care of all the details: even the ladies’ bathroom is beautiful! I’m so glad he brought this little slice of Spain to PB; I can’t sing its praises highly enough!
- Pros: great food, service, music, and best ambience in town
- Cons: none, it's reasonably priced and very consistent
Cozy, Romantic, Great Food

We celebrated my friend's birthday and it was the right atmosphere for a little more sophisticated and intimate celebration when other bars & restaurants are too casual, beachy and loud. The scallop dish and mushroom rissotto were amazing. The service was very friendly and prompt (it was a quiet Monday night). Loved the live music. Would be a great date night -- dark and cozy, warm decor, candles on tables.
- Pros: Great food, live music, good ambience
- Cons: n/a
