In Short – Austin Powers would feel right at home in the low circular booths, shag carpeting and all-white, mod-style interior of this sleek, unmarked lounge perched on a hill just above the airport. A white iPod DJ setup continues the theme outside on the heated patio, where cocktail waitresses clad in vintage stewardess frocks serve kitschy drinks like the Red Eye or the Frequent Flyer. A curiously ballpark-like snack menu features French fries and corn dogs.
The Details on The Airport
The Extras:
The bar's patio is directly in the flight path of Lindberg Field. Every two minutes or so, a 757 swoops overhead. Loud, but cool.
Know Before You Go:
Though it ranked among the ultra-exclusive spots when it first opened with a strict guest list only policy, now just it's a line and a cover charge like everwhere else.
Parking:
Beware of loiterers near the freeway overpass. Safest bet is to park in a Little Italy lot a few blocks back and hoof it.
Look Good:
Ask about free limo service on Fridays to and from the W Hotel.
