“The atmosphere is inviting with Christmas lights, expensive candleholders, and plenty of empty, soft barstools - seemingly odd for nine-ish on a Friday night.”
“Above just wine, I enjoyed watching music videos on the big screen, getting a tour of the wine storage facility and had a nice Cuban on the patio.”
“After walking in I was greeted by a friendly bartender.”

Re: RUDEST PEOPLE I EVER MET.
What does RACE or ETHNICITY of an employee have to do with anything? Twice in the review below Jojogun calls out: "the pompous asain" and "this asain person." Review of the poor service the writer
claims to have experienced aside for a minute, let me guess: Jojogun, you must be a White person, right?
The employee's alleged behavior toward you or to any patron as you describe it would be certainly unacceptable, though your blatant racism might be the real issue of so-called bad service here. Bring it on yourself maybe? And no, I'm not Asian.
Me, I'm someone who's going to visit 57 Degrees like I've been wanting to as I pass through Midtown or Little Italy on my way home from the airport to my multi-ethnic neighborhood of SouthEast SanDiego...SAY WHAT? A fine wine AFICIONADO in the Hot Cheetos-eating ghetto of SouthEast? That's right, and a call out on RACISM right here on SanDiego CitySearch. It's Jojogun's wine and service I wouldn't care for should it be distributed.
As for the wines at 57 Degrees and their service, I look forward to experiencing both. Think I'll look for an Identifiable Asian kid behind the bar, give him a heads up about how to handle racist White folk in the context of the workplace.…
Most Rude people I have ever met. New Years eve, my husband and I stopped in to check out this wine bar. The pompous asian"employee" @ the bar had to be coerced to our side of the wine bar. He was aware we were there, however we were ignored. I walked around the other side of the bar, which only had 5 total people, and found him, trying to ignore us again. I told him to please not forget he has customers on the other side. When he finally showed up, he was rude. I told this asian person my husband was a wine maker, which usually starts some conversation about wines. He glared at us, so I repeated what I had said. He sounded like a smart mouth teenager, and said "I HEARD YOU THE FIRST TIME" We were so taken back by his arrogant, rude attitude, we left, and won't return. We will also let our wine club friends know about this establishment, and worthlessness. Wine Steals has nothing to worry about. The manner in which business is conducted @ 57 degrees will put them out of business in no time. Personally, I don't have enough money to waste in this establishment, when there are so many other fantastic wine bars. Go Wine Steals!!!…
Love this place!. Brought my girlfriend here and she wouldn't stop talking about it! Enjoyed the wine very much
Good, but not great.. The place is very roomy, almost too roomy though... it seems a bit empty. The first time I went, there was dust everywhere. It was the afternoon and the bartender was marginally amiable. We enjoyed our wine and left. We also threw a little party there and this is where we found issues. The owner is really arrogant, took advantage of a situation, I didn't want to argue with him, I paid the inflated bill. He charged us $5 per bottle corkage fee for bottles we corked ourselves AND an 18% gratuity. He also put the whole thing on the retail register, I'm assuming so he didn't have to actually share any of that 18% with the wonderful server girl who he had working two parties.... and leaving it impossible for me to add a tip expressly for her to the bill on the credit card. He made several rude comments and it is he and he alone that guarantees I'll never step foot in the joint again. Neither, I may add will many of the party goers. If Ramsey had a show on wine bar nightmares, this owner would be a poster boy for the pilot episode. The place had not one bottle of real champagne....only sparking wine... how sad that Ralph's Grocery has a better champagne selection. I'll be going to Wine Steals from now on. Too bad Tango has not found a new venue yet.…
High Class wine bar - but still fun. Local wine bar located in East Village. Had the opportunity to stop be a few weeks ago. I'm not a real wine person, but the atmosphere inside made me curious. After walking in I was greeted by a friendly bartender. I opted for a local brewery beer, but was talked into trying some of the favorites by the locals. The atmosphere was quite different then the typical downtown scene. It was quite trendy, but I didn't have to flag the bartender down each time I was looking for a refill. The people were extremely friendly and was even greeted by the owner who also gave me some of his recommendations. Has a few different rooms within the faciltiy and was actually able to have a conversation with people I can hear. The owner told me about the Sunday barbecues with the ability to watch several different games. I ended up coming back on Sunday and much to my suprise I was able to watch the game that I wanted without any trouble. I definately rate this faciltiy as a must try. I think you'll find it a recurring place to visit.…
