What People Are Saying About The Loft

In Short – Around since the late '70s, this two-room dive may be stuck in time--think faux wood-paneled walls, a rainbow-colored disco ball, and minimal natural light--but it's bolstered by its easygoing patrons, welcoming Banker's Hill suits and Hash House wait-listers into the fray. It's the kind of place where barrel-carved W.C. Fields quotes extoling the virtues of binge drinking, a popular pool table and plastic dartboard blend with more modern touches like the touchscreen jukebox.

Ummm

This place was amazing, but I have unfortunately narrowed it down to here and the Brass Rail where I picked up Hep C. Please check if you've been here! I have always loved this place (great bartenders!) but I am worried now. New people or staff maybe? Sorry guys. I still love you!!!!!!!!

  • Pros: Good food
  • Cons: hepatitis?

Fast, furious and fun!

Ragin' gay bar. Regulars of all ages and stages. Newbies welcome. Sensational bartenders who know how to pour and parlez. (Dave, Jeff, Gerald, Andy, Michael are the best!) Plus, the price is right! The emphasis is on stiff drinks, made right, served efficiently, consumed in a fast-paced atmosphere amidst very social people. 90% men (okay, 98%), but women who frequent (and behave) feel welcome and appreciated. And I'm a woman (for real). Love you guys!

  • Pros: strong drinks, cheap price, very efficient & friendly bartenders
  • Cons: not enough seating on busy nights

The Details on The Loft

Happy Hour:

Visit during happy hour, from opening until 7pm, for cheap well drinks and daily special cocktails.

When to Go:

A great time to check out the bar is while waiting for a table at next door Hash House, where it can often take an hour or more on weekends. Tell the host you'll here, and they call you when you're ready to be seated.

Look Good:

The bell above the cash register is rung only when someone buys the entire bar a round. It happens very infrequently, but you're in for a treat if the timing is right.
