Editorial Review for Galileo 101 -- CLOSED – by Erin Chambers

The Scene
In homage to the famous explorer, an all-glass, octagonal atrium provides a dramatic centerpiece for stargazing, people-watching, and fine dining on the first floor of the Harbor Club's exclusive west tower. A 40-foot wine tower reaches from the bar below up to the top of the glass, passing the second-level VIP lounge on the way. Downstairs, the traditional dining room's soft lighting plays calmly off the natural wood and creme tones.

The Food
A mix of European flavors heavy seafood offerings characterize the menu. The rock shrimp starter with goat cheese and gemeli pasta satisfies like a full meal, while the tomato salad or asparagus are portioned smaller and with lighter flavors. Blue cheese-laces potatoes accompany the tender filet, and bison is served with parsnip puree and truffled demi glaze. A small array of mostly-vegetarian pastas are also available. accommodating

Where to Sit

The harbor views from the VIP lounge upstairs are stunning. If it's not too crowded, the area up the spiral staircase is usually fair game.

Look Good

It's not so uptight an establishment to enforce a dress code, but do don duds on the nicer side to fit in with the Harbor Club crowd.

This is the worst place in San Diego. Don't ever go there. Service was horrible, the food was so-so and over-priced for the bland experience. I don't think the people who own this restaurant know what it means to be a good restaurant.....Avoid this place at all cost!
