Editorial Review for Vagabond Kitchen of the World – by Erin Chambers

The Scene
Warm, dark adobe walls with carved arches and ornate columns welcome diners to the candle-lit dining room with an imported Spanish tile floor. Iron wall sconces and unique wooden candelabras remind you of old Europe, while the barrels and rafia sacks of coffee and potatoes visible from the kitchen add a touch of the islands.

The Food
The menu incorporates local favorites from around the globe, served as if you were eating at someone's dinner table in Thailand, Spain or Morocco. Mussels steamed in white wine and garlic, then sauteed with herbs and creme fraiche are rich and flavorful. Soaking up any leftover sauce in the bottom of the deep ramekin on the crusty house bread is almost better than the shellfish itself. Other standouts include a thinly sliced filet with spicy herbed butter, classic French frites with light dusting of sea salt and traditional Spanish Paella.

beyond my solitude there is another solitude my aloneness is a place without a connection to earth and the arts and my silence a confusion of voices beyond this burdened self lives my freer self too young and outraged to be my freer self how shall i become my freer self unless all men and women become free how shall my leaves fly singing upon the wind unless my roots shall wither in the dark ? how shall the painter in me soar against the sun unless i leave the paintings i built with my own hands i hear there is a place where i can find peace.. let me know where and when i can meet you at cafe india

I've been to Vagabond twice in the last month, once for lunch the other for dinner. The place is awesome. My husband is a real wine lover, and he judged the recommended selection by the owner to be one of the better picks he's had in many years. I love their seafood and their noodle dish, wish is should be pointed out can be made to suit vegetarian eating habits. They are currently doing lamb dishes, and the two gentlemen in our party RAVED about the meal. We took our 4 and 7 year old (we did go a bit early...) They put us at a good table, and they munched on the delicious pomme frittes (french fries) through out the meal. Great service and very attentive. South Park is lucky to have such an establishment.

Pros: Great ambience! Varied menu. GREAT wine list.

Cons: none
