another rush job. just recieved another pizza that should have been left in the oven another 5 minutes. The store on university is a mystery. Sometimes the best new york style pizza in town and sometimes an under cooked mess. For $20.00 bucks I'm glad to wait an extra ten minutes. Slow down and do it right, people will wait for quality.
HillCrest Location (Poor Service & Pizza not very good). My first experience was not very good. I called in the order and repeated it several times because the girl on the phone just didn't get it. I did a half pepperoni, meatball and half pineapple not too hard with a side of 10 wings. I went to pick it up and the girl at the front was on the phone with another customer rolling her eyes and being rude saying I don't know what you are tyring to order, big surprise. She finally acknowledged me and got my pizza. She said half pineapple and I said the other half was pepperoni meatball right. She said yep this is it. The total came to $27.50 which seemed a lot for a large pizza and 10 wings, so I asked for the reciept. Upon review of the reciept I was charged for full toppings of pepperoni and meatball and $2.00 delivery fee. Looking at the pizza it was not made right all pepperoni and meatball, half pineapple. So, I went back to the counter to get the pizza remade (girlfriend is vegetarian so had to get a new pizza). The girl never looked at me because she was busy being rude to the next customer on the phone. I went over to the manager making pizzas which was busy telling some guy, "If you want a job here don't come in here drunk and being rude" I guess an insight to the quality of workers. I ended up getting the pizza re made, went home and now noticed there was no dressing with the chicken wings as ordered. The pizza was not very good at all. Half the cheese on the pineapple side was missing, looks like they threw it into a box and the cheese went all to one side. I worked at a pizza shop in high school and college, and this was on my bottom list of pizza quality and service. I recommend going to bronx pizza or woodstocks. This was my first and last experiece with this pizza chain.
Nickle and dime!. Ciro's just opened up in Hillcrest. The service is sub-standard. I requested a glass of tap water with my meal. Unfortunately, the profit margin on the bottled water is too good to pass up. I was informed that they do not serve tap water. If I wanted a drink I?d have to purchase it. Thanks, I?ll take my business down the street to Bronx Pizza where the pizza is better and I am treat like a customer.
Best place to NOT get what you order!. I placed a simple phone order with a guy that should have played in "Half-Baked." After a long pause he took my name and told me 20 minutes. I walk all the way down there (7 blocks), arriving 30 minutes after I called, and waited for a few minutes before being acknowledged. When I finaly had his attention I said I was there to get my order. His response: "Oh.... I'm sorry (he wasn't very believable), I didn't even start it yet.... I got busy." I left my Coke on the counter, walked out, and took my business to Del Taco where they were happy to take my order AND make it in a timely manner (I was hungry!).
Rude employees/slow service/below average pizza. I have gone to Ciro's twice and was dissapointed both times. Their counter service/register girl was slow, rude, and pretty much ignored us. One of the other people took our order and I guess they mostly sell slices because they couldn't understand the concept that we wanted to buy 2 whole pies. On a fairly slow night it took over 30 minutes to make our pizza. I think that is way too long for a mediocre product. Bronx Pizza in Hillcrest is much better. I lived in NY for 25 years...I know pizza. This place would never make it in NY. It's way to slow, rude, and the pizza is not that terrific. This one already has 2 strikes from me, I'm not willing to give it another chance!
Best pizza shop downtown. Best place to stop if for a slice at lunch or get a whole pie for dinner. Highly recommend the chicken cutlet parmesan specialty pizza, but ask for extra sauce.
Best pizza this side of the Brooklyn Bridge.. Ciro's pizzeria has by far the best slice of Pie in SD. The selection of pizza that they keep in the pizza case is awesome. They always offer varieties of pizza by the slice,my favorite is the Buffalo Chicken pizza with chucks of buffalo chicken and blue cheese crumbles. The fact that there open until 2:30am Thursday threw Saturday makes them a great late night snack. I just wish they had two registers so the line would move faster, but overall I'm a huge fan.....If you haven't stopped by for a slice check this place out on the corner of 6th ave and market street.
Best Pizza any day any time!!!. Ciro's is with out a doubt Gaslamps best pizza! Fresh slices any time of the day and that doesn't even touch upon there delicious wraps. After going out for a long night out it's my favorite place to stop before i head home and you'll defiantly notice it's a lot of other peoples favorite spot to because the scene is happening at Ciros once the clubs and bars close down. I work downtown also and for a quick lunch stop Ciro's is my place! The staff always accomodates my requets and i can get a little demanding at time :). I would highly recommend this little pizzeria to any one!!!
eh..... I don't know about this place.... it took them well over 40 minutes to hand over a BBQ chicken pizza, which costs $17 and was far from great. True, I ate it, but it was lke they put NO effort into making it taste good it at all-- all chewy and very basic sauce on there. But, who knows, maybe I just got the one kind of pizza that is not all that. I think the prices should def. be brought down a peg or two for the quality.
good for a slice. It's good for a slice, might even be the best downtown, but if you order a whole pie for delivery, it arrives cold. it's just not quite the same as ordering a slice and eating it ont he street or on your way home. yum.
