the idea is there.
The idea is there. But there not there with the follow threw with the food.
everything sound good on the menu but its served soggy,or dry,or burn
place is cool for drinks and music.
Not feeling the food at all.Hate watching good ingredients go to waste just cause they weren't cook properly.
You cant have runny quiche, soggy salad.and a dry hamburger.for these prices.
NO THANK YOU.
I swear I'm not a self masochist.
There is one thing that continues to bring me back to Beaumont's despite the snobby and airheaded waitstaff. The food is phenomenal from the Coast Toast, Chille Relleno, and Thick Cut Bacon to the quality of the coffee. The menu choices are amazing - each item served is better than the last.
Breakfast is my favorite meal and something I look forward to, especially on a weekend morning at Beaumont's. However, their service continues to be abysmal. I go back every time in hopes that maybe the last time, my server was hung over or just wasn't very sharp, but the only constant aside from the excellent food, really, is the atrocious service.
This time around our each dish order came with half of the order missing. If the order said "served on top of scrambled eggs" the scrambled eggs were missing. If the order was a dish meant to have a side of butter and syrup, we had to ask. Refills on coffee and water are difficult to come by, and when we ask for something, it takes 15 minutes to find its way to our table regardless of how packed the place may be.
In closing, while I love this place, I always walk away feeling abused and slightly bitter. While the prices aren't outrageous, it's not cheap. This establishment is making a poor choice in waitstaff, management, and attention to the details that matter. I'm at the point where I'm not sure if this relationship can continue. Beaumont's is a bad boyfriend that I can't tear myself away from, but it may be time to break up.
Not Recommended.
1.The waitress seemed a bit put out by our desire to try the place in which she has a job.
2. The waitress took the menu out of my hand , turned it over to let me know that I was looking at the dinner menu and they were only serving breakfast and lunch. Hmmm
3. The coffee had a burnt bitter taste, not a strong taste. She did try to correct.
4. The Swordfish sandwich, where's the fish? The non toasted, dry bun overwhelmed the small piece of swordfish.
5. The burger was tasty. Though on a dry , non toasted bun.
6. Long wait time to receive service and food.
Not a pleasant experience. And for $27 when all we had were two sandwiches and water not a good deal either.
Not a good experince
Great Happy Hour Specials. Right on La Jolla Blvd in Bird Rock business district. You can stroll to several ocean lookouts or Calumet Park beach afterward.

Quaint restaurant with great food. Awesome breakfast (definitely try the filet mignon benedict or the chilaquiles) and wonderful coffee. Nice ambience and service.
Editorial Review by Maren Dougherty, Citysearch Contributor. Martinis, margaritas and contemporary Californian cuisine make the restaurant a lively spot in the quiet Bird Rock neighborhood.
