In Short – The owners of longtime Gaslamp favorite Alambres opened the new nightclub next door in 2006. Inside, half-circle booths placed in yin-yang pattens make up most of the main level, while downstairs is more of an underground club feel, with carpeted walls. Upstairs is VIP. Isn't it always? The main level is open for dinner in the early evening, and the other two join the party later on, with DJs, dancers and plenty of partiers.

Rude and boring

I was just there for the 1st time last nite with my boyfriend after walking by it for the past 7 months of living downtown. They got us in by shouting that there was a beer and shot special. There was no one in there except for a bachelorette party who kept lookoing around like they were bored (mind you, this was 10 PM on a Friday nite). We went back to the bar area and waited for a bartender for like 10 minutes, when it turns out they were both standing right there and had seen us waiting for service (I assumed these were employees who were off for the nite until they asked us what we wanted). While we were standing there another employee made a rude comment to me out of the blue which was just really weird. The bartender apparently expected a $4 tip for 2 bottled beers and 2 shots since he walked away without giving me change for the cash I had just put down. And after all that, the bottled beers were nice and warm. I took 2 sips and left. AWFUL.
