“Not a great place but fresh, clean cooking.”
“not a great place but fresh, clean cooking.”
“Staff is always friendly.”
Enjoyed it.
I was visiting San Diego and happened to come across Chianti. They had very charming hostess/ greeter. I knew nothing about the place but there were mouth watering aromas coming out of there so we took a chance.
The staff was very cordial and attentive. The menu was varied. The food was delicious. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. I'd have to say the pricing was a little high but not unreasonable for the quality and quantity of food.
We went back a second time before we left and enjoyed
that meal too. Based on my experience I'd say stop for
lunch or dinner.
No reservation. I had a reservation for Saturday. It did not matter, they made me wait for more than 20 minutes. The waiter only came to the table to get the order and bring the check. When the food arrived at the table it was already cold. And the price .... very expensive.
MORE THAN ITALIAN.
Good italian food but also good for steaks. Not a great place but fresh, clean cooking. Staff is always friendly.
Has an old world charm.
Excellent. I HIGHLY Recomended. Wont lose anything going..
Hi, I went to this magnificent place and I just loved it. It was a pleasure to be there. It was (IS) one of the best Italian restaurants in Gaslamp. I was very please with the service of everybody.
I am a local concierge in San Diego and I would highly recommend this place. From salads, to the appetizers.
Highly Recommend. This place is the genuine article. An excellent trattoria. Everytime I visit San Diego I make sure to take my girlfriend here for a well prepared meal with attentive and knowledgable service...I urge you to visit Chianti for dinner sometime. I won't tell you what to order however...read the menu, talk to your waiter and make your own decisions...you're gonna love it
Upscale restaurant provides the Gaslamp Quarter with a welcoming spot for regional Italian fare..
In Short
With a dining room full of warm woods and soft hues, Chianti provides its patrons, a mix of locals and tourists, with a most romantic environment. The exceptionally lengthy menu includes both modern (Dungeness crab cakes, ahi tuna tartare) and traditional (veal saltimbocca, chicken marsala) Italian dishes, with all pastas made from scratch. Dozens of Italian and Californian labels populate a long, well-chosen wine list. Breezy patio seating proves popular when the weather's right.
