Gives Ford a bad name. Three bad experiences. 1) Wanting to give the local dealer the biz, I started there. Sales guy seemed bothered he had to talk with me. Offer was list price (on a low demand model), minus Ford incentives, low-ball trade value, no negotiating. Plus, I learned they do not "play nice" with other Ford dealers, so you are stuck with what they have on the lot. 2) Brought car in after it went into fail safe mode. Said they couldn't find what it was. I complained. They tried again and found it, meaning they were perfectly fine with letting my family car go unfixed after the safety systems detected a potential major problem. 3) Brought car in for regular service. Went past due time. Did not fuss or say anything but finally mentioned I was late. Rep responded with a long and angry tongue lashing in front of everyone. Rude, unprofessional, uncalled for and humiliating. This was not a customer from hell situation, but he responded as if it was. He kept it up with no apology until I finally was able to get out of there. I believe the dealer is hopelessly dysfunctional. They give Ford a bad name.
Good Experiences with Heller Service. We've gone to Heller for service on our Fords since about 2001. We've had consistently good service from them. The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful, and the work they do seems to be of high quality, for the most part. Their shuttle service lets us to leave the car, get a ride home (to San Marcos) and then be picked up when the work is done. Nowadays car repair costs are high everywhere, but we never found Heller to be out of line; in fact, they're often on the low side. One negative: I've had a small squeek in my car which they've never been able to fix. That's my only complaint.
Worst Service Center AVIOID THIS PLACE!. This is probably the worst dealership I have ever been to. I took my F150 in only because they sent me a factory recall because of a potential problem with the air bag wiring harness, stated the paperwork. Now Ive been working on cars for years, and I always do my own work, unless its something like this where its under recall, and its covered by the dealership. Now I never asked them to, but they did a free multi-point inspection, and checked the tires. They called me to pick up the truck, and told me it passed their multi-point inspections. First thing I see when they drive it out is a flat tire, they had to take it back to fill it up. They actually drove it out with a extremely low tire, told me it was good to go, and then had to take it right back and put air in it. So when he comes back the next time truck, I had to ask him how my truck passed all these multipoint inspections when I have a bad wheel seal, and there is gear oil from the rear end all over the inside of the right rear rim. I showed him the oil, its completely caked on the inside of rim, anyone can spot this. I haven't had time to fix this, I already knew of this problem, I keep adding gear oil to the differential until I have a chance to pull out the axle and replace the wheel seal to actually fix the leak. So I had to ask "how can you not see this" "did you really do the inspection". My truck looks new besides the oil caked inside of the right rear rim, I keep it in good shape. Without any solid answers, I drove my truck across the street to the BMW dealership and I popped the hood for my own inspection. First thing I see, and you won't believe this, is the billet grill insert completely busted of the main grill, just dangling there about to fall into the radiator. Someone had slammed the hood so hard, they busted the billet grill right out of the truck. I couldn't see this at the dealership because of the way they parked the truck when they brought it out. I carried the grill over back across the street, left my truck at the BMW dealership with the hood open, and I let em have it. Like I was back in the Marine Corps, I spilled my guts for all and everyone to hear. I watched the lady before me leave unhappy, I heard her say it was her fourth time there to try and resolve the same problem, and when she drove away, the services advisers mimicked her and poked fun at her. Heartless people. Don't let them fool you. After further inspection in the BMW parking lot, I found my truck to be about 1 quart low on oil, and I had just checked it the other day and it was fine. It's always fine, I check it often like you should, but it's always fine. I change the oil when it's time, and if it ran a little low ever, or burned some oil it wouldn't be much. Never have I been an entire quart low. Had I not checked the truck myself, Id have much bigger problems. As a mechanic myself, unless you want to find out the hard way, you should avoid this place. Seriously...learn my from my experience, and find a better place to take your vehicle.
Avoid Heller Ford in Escondido at all cost. I can't believe how deceiving the people that work here are. I bought a car from them not even a month ago and the finance manager talked me into buying even better coverage for the car and already it is in there for repairs on the transmission and they won't cover it with their warranty they sold me, this place is the worse dealership around, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone!!!
Car Buyers Beware!. I visited Heller /Hyundai of Escondido and purchased a Brand new Elantra. My experience was a nightmare. I purchased the vehicle and left the lot with my dream car. Then the next day I get a call from the car salesman- Henry Thomas stating that they had an extra key and to come pick it up and drop off add'l paperwork. Then I get a second call from him later stating that there had been a mix up and the paperwork had been done on a different car and that I needed to bring it back! Then I realized that they had done what is known as the classic "Bait and Switch". That is when they do the paperwork for a different vehicle (the base model car) and then they try to get you for more money on the vehicle you thought you were negotiating on all along. They said they will not honor their mistake and give me the same price for the vehicle I selected. I will see them in court if necessary! I will tell everyone who is looking for a car...DO NOT GO to Heller For/Hyundai of Escondido, EVER!
Bad customer service. 3 hour oil change while you wait is rediculous! Service guy called me and I was waiting in there lobby and stated that it was ready to pick up. Treat you like you don't know what your doing.
