“Great Mexican food and very reasonable prices.”

Expensive BAD Food. Bad Food. Expensive prices. $10 tostado had a smearing of refried beans, shredded packaged lettuce, a few slices of avocado. Food sucked. I felt sick after eating there. The glasswear smelled of dirty dishwater. I will never ever go there again and cannot recommend it even to an enemy. Horrible doesn't begin to describe the food. Taco Bell is way, way better if you can imagine that.
Bar from Hell. A beautiful Sunday afternoon. Thought we'd plop our kayaks in Lake Hodges, but the lake was closed. So we went to Hernandez' Hideaway for a beer. We sat at the bar, cute little place, and asked the bartender what was on tap. She said nothing. We asked what beers do they serve, as none were on display, and she huffed, opened up the beer refrig and said look for yourself. My husband couldn't see, it was dark inside the bar, so he asked her for help. She had to look for herself (didn't she know what beers they serve?). We ordered, she slammed our beers on the bar, and walked away with her hands up in the air. Needless to say, we left. As we drove past the bar on our way out, she was standing out on the patio, smoking a cancer stick and waving at us. Why? is my question. We did nothing to her. We were in great moods. We just wanted a beer. We have been in the restaurant business for 35 years. NEVER has someone been so rude and mean. We are great tippers too. Her loss. Mostly, huge loss for the establishment because we will tell everyone we know. Too bad for the owner. He should unload her. She was a miserable hagged woman. Clearly, didn't want to be at work. Or earn any money.
One of the Worst Restaurants I've Ever Been In (Read Below).
We came here last June to have an enjoyable Friday night of drinks, food, and dancing. The Greeter was abrupt, the wait was long, the table was awkward, the service was extremely slow (45 minutes to the "main course" which was cold, of course). Had to ask twice "where is the food,?' for which the anser was "it's coming" (well so is doomsday).. Not a good answr
TWe will never return here, but perhaps we were just singled out for special treatment. Good luck, Hernandez.
I've had many meals and occasions in many restaurants. This was memorable in being among the worst.
The WORST Mexican food. Not only was it the worst Mexican food that I have ever had, it was also the worst meal that I ever had. The food was cold, the service was poor and their guacomole (which is a good benchmark to use when judging the quality of Mexican food) was loaded with sour cream and tasted stale. I never take the time to write food reviews; however, Hernandez Hideaway was so bad, that I felt it was my duty to alert others. Stay away...I was surprised that my wife and I didnt get sick.
