Tips for Pines

May 16, 2013

First of all, sad to say that most of Esco is ghetto. If you want anything relatively liveable, you will either be paying an arm and a leg, or you will be in crime city. That being said, the pines is a jewel in the rough! The apartments - big by San Diego standards. The AC - cool. The nights - Quiet. My car, wife and baby - Safe. What more could you ask for?? We lived there for 3 years and I don't think the owners raised our rent once!!! Other places hit you with $50 or $100 rent increases each time your lease is up. :(

The owners are picky and tend to keep the 'bad' people out. If you're moving to North County inland, I suggest you check it out. You won't reget ;)

Westminster family finds a home in Escondido! :). My husband and I LOVED living at The Pines! We were there for more than 2 years while he was at seminary and it was so wonderful! First of all safety is a big priority for me. What somebody else said is totally true that the pines is in West Escondido which is by far one of the safest and best places of San Diego. The pines is also gated, which was a big plus to me. My husband knew 3 or 4 people from Westminster Seminary who were living there at the same time as us and I made some lifetime friends there!

The couple who own/manage the pines are sooo nice and they always took good care of us. It really was a wonderful Christian environment and sooo family friendly!

The apartment was beautiful and central A/C was nice during San Diego summers :) The only thing I would have wanted was a gas stove for cooking! :( But seriously...do your homework and make sure you aren't moving somewhere dangerous!! Check the crime maps online first! I did and there was NO crime at all when we lived at the pines! I know it was probably stupid but we always left our windows open and left our stuff outside! I would highly recommend the pines and I wish we didn't have to move out!!

Safe & Quiet - What More Could You Ask For?. We lived here for a couple of years and would never have moved out if I wasn't offered a great position back east. The owners were a very nice couple (not impersonal property managers) who took wonderful care of the property. We loved our neighbors - a few couples with young kids, one senior citizen, and some students at the seminary school which is about 2 miles away. Everyone spoke English and were friendly, which is getting rare for North County.

This property is gated (the gate actually works!) and we felt very safe (both our cars and our apartment). Hale Avenue is a quiet little retreat in Escondido, and we never heard about any crime while we were there. We used to walk across the street to Albertons for groceries. We loved it and would never have moved if it weren't for the job relocation. 5 Stars!

Best Apartment in Escondido. Large & spacious 2x1 units - nearly 1,000 square feet with walk in closets, central A/C, new dish washers and microwaves, a beautiful pool and spa. This is a gated community in a park-like setting with lots of parking. $1,100/month is well worth it for this wonderful property. The best part of west Escondido with very little crime! You get so much privacy, with large back yards and, low density and large open spaces - you're not staring into your neighbor's window. On site laundry, plenty of street parking for guests, and wonderful tenants & well maintained - an A+++ that I would highly recommend.
