DON'T GO TO GENTLE DENTAL -Utterly Disappointed & Frustrated. So, I had a family dentist that I was going to for years and absolutely loved, but after getting insurance through my job I had to switch dentists. So, I decided to try Gentle Dental Del Lago. They have strange hours and day restrictions for different people that work there, but I decided to try them out. I got the whole "you need the deep cleaning treatment....every 3 months" speech. I always assume the best until proven otherwise so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I did the deep cleaning. I got a partial crown which I already knew I needed, and then was told I needed a filling in between my teeth. After the x-rays - I was told it was nowhere near the root and should be a routine filling. Well....if you call going in and getting a filling, which causes intense pain once the numbing disappears routine..... Perhaps you would love Gentle Dental del Lago. But it gets better - I had to go in late to work, numb my mouth, and give the dentist another shot at it. The pain was still there so they had me do it all again. After the 3rd time, I asked why it was so difficult and that I had NO pain before hand, and now I can't even chew on that side of my mouth. Now they tell me I may have a cracked tooth or something....at no fault of theirs of course. So they send me in to see a specialist....a specialist??? Why was I not told about this specialist beforehand? I go in to see the specialist and the people up front are asking for payment for a root canal. What???? A root canal.....I was not aware that this was a possibility and now they are not only trying to charge me $1000 (with my insurance) but to do it right there on the spot. Well, I called my insurance company who informed me that I had been overcharged multiple times. The appropriate charge for my root canal was supposed to be $150. After discussing this with the people up front, for some reason they managed to up-charge their way to over $1000 on the estimate. So they messed up my teeth, overcharged me, and made me miss work unnecessarily. I will never go back there. I am supposed to be getting a refund for the overcharges. It will probably be like pulling teeth to get it from them. PUN Intended!
Terrible Service. This is the worst dental office ever, they can't even keep an appointment and do not have the courtesy to call and let a person know. They did call to confirm my appointment the day before, but when I showed up, they seemed so confused as to why I was there. The receptionist claimed that their office manager called to cancel, but that never happened. Nor did they apologize for causing me to lose work.
