I love Pine Hills!.
Julian is an apple country setting with country stores/gift shops. The lodge is just a few minutes from Julian and yet it's setting is in the forest. Clean mountain area and the sights and sounds of animals--squirrels, birds & deers. You feel very close to nature. The cabins give a very romantic setting for couples.
I've been there for two separate weekends. The first time was planned. We stayed in one of the cabins. That evening we went to the dinner theater and saw Run for Your Wife. The actors were excellent. I laughed so hard. And the food is the best of any dinner theater I have been to.
The second time I went to Pine Hills it was unplanned. We took a drive to Julian and ended up staying in the lodge. I recommend their cabins over the lodge especially for a first visit or a romantic getaway. Both have a different feel to them. The lodge would be great if the rooms had their own bathroom. The cabins are like mini cabins (bed/living area & bathroom). They one we had, had a fireplace. Next time, I would like to go there in the winter.
The main lounge is huge with a big fireplace. It's a cozy place to socialize with other guess. The staff and community are so friendly there. The night lounge/bar is a great place to have a drink and listen to music before going to the dinner theater.
Enjoy a taste of yesteryear at Julian's rustic lodge, bar and restaurant..
