“Great appetizers and a fun environment”
“great beer”
“loved the beer, and the food was pretty good too.”
“While their staff has always been friendly, I've never been a huge fan of their food.”
“would recommend Rock Bottom to anyone who wants a cool atmosphere, reasonable happy hour prices, and good service.”
Lots of fun and good food and drinks. Just a little more in price, but worth it.
Great Beer!!. Good food, friendly service, and a great selection of award winning locally brewed beers. Very tasty and a nice atmosphere. Pool tables and darts upstairs were nice as well.
Quick service and large portions.
Good place to stop in for an extended lunch while checkng out downtown.
Feel free to share a meal as they are quite large. Be sure to try a beer from their own menu!
great beer. I like the downtown location and this location. They will not seat you unless all of your party is present :( but other than that I have no complaints. The mac and cheese is pretty good. The fish tacos are good. All the portions are pretty large. But the beer is the main event. I have a soft spot for beweries.
Best spinach dip. The food here is actually pretty good. I had pasta and I wasn't expecting it to be the greatest and it wasn't. But it was still pretty good. I'm assuming that the burgers and steak are much better since it is sort of their specialty. Like I said, the spinach artichoke dip is different from what you get at other restaurants, but in a good way. It's a little spicy and packed with a lot of flavor. Definitely one of the best I've tried.
Best beer in San Diego. I had always heard about Rock Bottom but I thought it was just a club downtown. My friend took me to the one in La Jolla and I had a great time. I loved the beer, and the food was pretty good too. I would recommend Rock Bottom to anyone who wants a cool atmosphere, reasonable happy hour prices, and good service.
Not so good burgers. I've been here a number of times for work group lunches. While their staff has always been friendly, I've never been a huge fan of their food. Their beer selection is decent, for sure; but I wouldn't be apt to come here for dinner on my own.
Lively brewery attracts a happy hour crowd during the week and late night revelers for food and dancing on weekends.
In Short
The shiny, cherry-wood paneling, long wooden bar and exposed copper brewing vessels prove this bar is more about the beer than the menu. Young professionals stop in for lunch and return for great happy hour specials during the week, while live music acts or hot DJs brings in a steady going-out crowd on weekends. The beer-infused menu includes Brown Ale chicken, asiago cheese dip with handmade beer bread.
