Winchell's Jewelry Designs. This small jewelry shop that is right off of Wall street has been around for 35 years. Karl, the owner, explains that he originally started as a potter and sculpture, but two of his friends asked him to make them their wedding rings, so he did. Then two more asked him for wedding rings, and then the president of the University he worked at asked him to make jewelry for his wife. After that was when Karl began to get into the jewelry business. He went to and graduated from the gemological institute. After that he moved back to San Diego, where he was originally from, because out of everywhere he has been, he loves San Diego the most. "I do all the work myself, I don't send it to anyone." Karl explains that when you give him your jewelry, you can rest assured that he is the only one handling it. Being a full-service jewelry store, Karl says that there is nothing he can't do. Best jewelry find in San Diego!!. This little shop in La Jolla is a gem! The owner is a great guy and does excellent work at a very fair price. I was very happy with the jewelry I bought. He took the time to explain what I was buying and didn't pressure me at all. Forget the mall stores, this place has much better service and quality!! I won't go anywhere else.
