We stayed at the Inn's sister company, Surf & Sand Hotel in Laguna and thought to try this property next. From the website, we expected the Inn to offer the same service level, but in a more intimate setting. We were disappointed all around in the Scripps Inn. Being in La Jolla, we expected top level service but there was very little staff, and the tiny office was only manned during limited hours. We reserved the two bedroom suite because it had a kitchen -- intending to have a few intimate meals. However, it wasn't as fully equipped as we'd hoped. The furniture in the parlor was threadbare in spots and seemed more suited to inexpensive apartment rental than that of an upscale romantic getaway property. Overall, we were disappointed and didn't feel our money was well spent.
