Price is high but does a good job. I agree that at times the ladies do come across rude especially when you choose not to up-grade to their add-itional services - which does add up. And the massages are hardly a massage as you have to lean over while they do your nails so its not relaxing at all and the strength of the massage feels like a rub down instead of deep massage. With that said- the manicure/pedicure is one of the best Ive ever had. They have the newest type that makes your polish last and not chip -highly recommended. Im sure they have this product elsewhere but they undeniably do a great job! I think a bit on the high side though......

WOULD RATE ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE! DONT GO HERE!!!!!. I used to go to this place when I lived down in LaJolla and didn't notice how shady it was back then. I went to EMPRESS NAILS and asked for a pedicure and manicure. The owner (who is the rudest lady ive ever met, asked if I wanted a 15 min. shoulder massage. I thought that sounded nice so I agreed to 15 min. I was really relaxed and wasnt aware that I should have been keeping time myself. By the end, that 15 min. massage turned into 45 min which equaled 45 dollars. My mani, pedi, shoulder massage, eyebrow and lip wax came to 170.00. When I was finished and shocked by the price, I went to hand her my visa check card and she told me to go across the street to the ATM because they were no longer accepting credit cards. I went to the ATM and was charged an extra 3.00. WOW!!!!!! SHE DOESNT WANT TO PAY HER TAXES SO ONLY EXCEPTS CASH!!!!!!

I loved my pedicure and manicure though so I decided to go back and see the woman who did such a good job. I just said that I didnt want any of the extra stuff. I was charged 90.00 for a mani/ pedi and given a dirty look from the KIM, the owner when I said "no massage today".

Kim, (the owner ), is THE RUDEST lady ive ever met and should be thrown out on the street and out of La Jolla.

While I was there , a nice woman came in to see how much a pedicure was. When Kim shouted "65.00" the woman looked a little shocked and Kim yelled, "yah, You cant afford it" then gave her a look like ,get out of here!!!!

KIM IS A THIEF!!! She should not be a business owner. I encourage EVERYONE TO NOT GIVE HER YOUR BUSINESS!!!!!! Unless you like to be treated like dirt and feel uncomfortable and you like being ripped off, DONT GO THERE!!!!!!!! THE OWNER, KIM, IS SHADY , SHADY, AND LOTS MORE OF SHADY!!!!! HORRIBLE BUSINESS. SHE RIPS OFF CLIENTS AND TREATS THEM LIKE DIRT!!!!!!!!!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!
