saved my hair

this was my first experience at atelier. when i first got to the salon the receptionist greeted me immediately. they offered me some ice tea. the stylist that was doing my hair, i had never meet her prior to coming in, jodi. she waved to me from her chair and was very welcoming. my hair had grown out soo much and i bleach my hair to platinum and was worried that it would be too damaged but she totally saved my hair from being fried off. the assistant that was helping her was very helpful as well he showed me some of their makeup and lip glosses. this was definitely the best salon experience i have ever had.

Poor Customer Service Skills- I will NOT recommend

This was my second visit at the salon. First time went okay with no pressure sales when I had my hair done. Second time around, I had a different hairstylist, named KARLA. When I sat down to tell her what I'd like done to my hair color, there was an obvious communication problem. I wanted my hair toned down b/c my highlights were too bright, but I didn't know the exact color I wanted. The stylist gave me 2 options on hair color & so I chose one, but she kept asking me, "Are you sure this is what you want?" I said sure, whatever she thought would looked best on me, but Karla became quite inpatient, rude, & kept insisting that I would not like my hair when she is done with it. I have never had this experience before where the stylist was not only rude, but felt incompetent, or lacked confidence in doing my hair. She then said, "I'm not going to argue with you because I have a lot of clients waiting, and so you should back to the front desk & schedule with another stylist." I was in total shock & confused about everything that just happened. When I approach the front desk & explained to the receptionist & the female salon owner standing there what happened, the response I got from the owner, was "I think it's a personality problem between the stylist & clients, plus Karla is pregnant & so that might have something to so with it." The owner obviously expressed no concern, empathy, or apologies for the experience I had that day, however she did say another stylist can do my hair now if I wanted. When I sat down thinking I was going to get my hair done, it became more of a hair color consultation since the stylist was already booked for another hair appointment. I left the salon feeling very disappointed with my experience, as I do believe that some of the stylists who work there are talented & professional. The customer service exhibited by Karla & especially the owner, made me realize that this is not the place for any client if something were to go wrong.

- Cons: Service. Parking is tight. You cannot add the tip on the bill if you pay by debit/credit card.

these guys really know what they're doing

I love this salon. I don't go anywhere else. My hair always comes out exactly the way I want. I get highlights and a cut and it's perfect every time. My stylist is Phuong. She's awesome. They always offer you a beverage (coffee/tea/water) and a stack of magazines. The salon is bright and modern. Parking can be tough depending on what time your appointment is. They use high quality products. I highly recommend Atelier.
