Wonderful!. My dog had to have surgery and Dr. Hilinski was wonderful. He explained everything to us and took great care of our dog. The entire staff was friendly and I just felt like everyone cared about her. After a couple days of rest, my 14 year old dog was playful and full of life. I am grateful to Rolling Hills Pet Hospital!

LACK OF INTEGRITY. I brought my pet there because my groomer was working there. She released for being to compassionate. My grommer noticed a minor problem with my dog. Dr Hilinski not only made the problem bigger than it was but overcharged for a simple procedure. He lacked truthfulness and integrity. I do not recommend this place to anyone who loves thier pets.+They do what is best for the bottom line, not what is best for your pet

Lack of HONESTY. Unfortunately I chose to take my dog to rolling hills pet hospital where I found myself surrounded by masters of the art of trickery. This people are good at deceiving anyone who steps through their door. It is so sad and so cold for them to play with people the way they do just to make a buck. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone. I can tell you that word of mouth plays a big role in the success of a business but most importantly integrity, truthfulness, and straightforwardness along with the absence of lying and cheating.

HONESTY and you lack that and more.

I love my dog. I love this place. My dog, Kuma, was diagnosed with a spindle-cell tumor. I am unemployed and am going to school and the receptionists helped me find a credit provider to help for the costs. It was pricey for the surgery and after-care fees, but what can you really expect for surgery costs? I did have to cut out some extra testings because I had to monitor my finances but I was pleased with the care they gave her. I was stressed because they wrapped her bandage kinda weird after we picked her up and she was bleeding a lot and we had to bring her back right when we just got home, but I figured it was because her wound was an open-wound, which was tricky, and it was hard to stop the bleeding without cutting off her circulation. They seemed real sincere about the mistake and those things happen so I was not bothered so much as just stressed about my best gal, Kuma. My doctor at the time was Dr. Hilinski. He was great! He performed the surgery too. Right now my dog is back in the care of Rolling Hills Pet Hospital for geriatric vestibular disease. She is almost 12 years old. I had to call in for an emergency office visit this week because her symptoms were very acute. I had to skip my scholarship award ceremony as well but it was worth it for my dogs health. This time I had Dr. Shebel. She is so nice. I cried when they gave me the initial plan and costs because I knew I just couldn't afford it. However the nurse there, Wes, who helped me also during Kuma's cancer surgery was very compassionate and told me that he understood and they'd try to find a different plan based on my budget. It was so comforting that the Dr. Shebel and Nurse Wes were very considerate and understanding that I love my dog but I had to find another way. Their compassion alone was wonderful and I will always remember that.

Great staff. Great experience, nice staff, the doctor spent a lot of time in the room explaining different issues to me. They also have boarding and grooming which is convenient.

Rolling Hills Pet Hospital review. We would like to reply to mrbojangels003 review. As professionals we are aware of the problems that may arise from not having your pet spayed or neutered. One is the increased desire to run away. If they do run away it is very important to be sure that thay get retured to you, this is the reason for microchipping ID. This dog was lucky to end up with only a broken leg. If it had been a more severe or life threating wound this pet could likely have been euthanized if it was found by animal control and had no identification.

So you see this is why we recommended this patient be spayed and microchipped. If we were at fault it would be because we did not make the owner understand that a struck by car broken leg could be a direct result of not being spayed.

As for reviewing the previous xrays there was no need, the fracture was nearly four months old. The decision to remove or leave the cast would be based on the xrays we took on that days' visit.

We sent the dog home with a splint that was to be rechecked in 2 to 3 weeks and unfortunately the owner was a no show for the recheck. If this patient did not do well it was because the owner did not follow our recommendations, not due to any deficiency in our treatment. We work very hard to ensure that all our patients do well, but sometimes no matter how hard we try we can not make all owners follow our recommendations and practice basic pet care.

Nice people but not sure about the doctors' prognosis. I took my dog here after having such a horrible experience with Bonita Pet Hospital. Going to new physicians for treatement of a previous injury, it is typical to seek the original x-rays to see exactly what they are working with. I informed the receptionist and the doctor that the x-rays are available to retrieve from Bonita Pet Hospital.

After a good couple of hours, I was informed that my dog was healing well and does not require her cast anymore. However they charged me for x-ray retrieval, new x-rays, and your other typical vet costs. Regardless I was relieved, gleeful, and excited... because I returned home with my cast-free dog. But it was ruined by the hosiptal insisiting on additional services such as spaying, micro-chip, etc. Why ruin my moment and make a sales pitch when I already explained that I already spent thousands of dollars else where and the reason why I came to you?

With all major injuries, I made sure I would continue to keep my dog in a fragile yet semi-"immobile" state to help rebuild her muscles (cast was in for 12+ weeks) and not put too much stress on her healed bones. However, I noticed my dog was still not walking on her leg after a full month.

I don't know what made me do it (maybe it was because I wanted to speak to the surgeon who performed my dogs surgery) but I called Bonita Pet Hosipital and my conversation led to reveal Otay Lakes Vet. Hospital never requested the original x-rays! It turns out my dog still had a slight fracture and that was the reason why she continued to favor her leg.

To make a already long story short, my dog was re-treated at the PetSmart veteranary hospital on H-Street and is set to remove her 2nd cast this saturday 8/4/07.

I don't recommend eith veterinary hospitals, word of mouth just doesn't cut it until you do the research. TRUST ME, it will save you $$$, heart-ache, and time.

Thanks for reading.
