Editorial Review for Taste – by Amy Eddo

In Short
As its name suggests, patrons are invited to taste any cheese prior to purchase in a friendly, inviting atmosphere. Taste prides itself on offering over 100 varieties of artisan and farmstead cheeses from around the world. A knowledgeable staff offers recipe tips and wine pairing advice, as well as suggestions from a growing stock of gourmet items. Cheeses are only available at peak freshness and flavor; nothing is pre-sliced, all cheeses are cut directly from the wheel.

Fantastic experience every time I go there - they record what you buy each time so you do not need to remember and the staff is always super enthusiastic and eager to expose their customers to the cheeses that best suit the event, palate, and mood. Highly recommended stop in Hillcrest

Pros: Educated, ethusiastic and warm staff makes it fun

Cons: Calories!

Taste isn't just a cheese and gourmet store, it's an experience. They don't wait on you from behind a counter. The extremely knowledgeable and passionate owners bring the wheel of cheese to butcher block tables where they cut a taste right from the wheel. A level of service I've found nowhere else. Not only are there scores of great and unique cheeses, but they make it their goal to seek out the best olive oils, balsamicos, honeys, spices, etc. A great stop for foodies.
